Methotrexate-associated lymphoproliferative disorder (MTX-LPD) is a major complication of methotrexate (MTX) therapy that can develop in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), although primary hepatic MTX-LPD is extremely rare. Discontinuation of MTX results in remission in half of the patients with MTX-LPDs and is one treatment approach. ⋯ This patient demonstrated that MTX-LPD could arise in the liver, although it is rare. If liver tumors arise in patients taking MTX, examination of sIL-2R, Epstein-Barr virus-VCA IgG and EBNA might support the diagnosis of MTX-LPD. In this case, the primary hepatic MTX-LPD became necrotic without discontinuation of MTX. It is generally believed that withdrawal of MTX restores antitumor immunity resulting in tumor necrosis. This case indicates that spontaneous regression might occur without any treatment in some patients treated for RA with MTX-LPD. The relationship between MTX-LPD and spontaneous necrosis is unclear and further data is required to characterize the types of patients that will develop spontaneous regression without intervention.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Biosimilar erythropoietin in anemia treatment (BEAT)-Efficacy and safety of a 1:1 dose conversion from EPREX® to EPIAO® in patients with end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis: A prospective, randomized, double blind, parallel group study.
EPREX®/ERYPO®/PROCRIT® (epoetin alfa, Janssen-Cilag GmbH) was the first available recombinant human erythropoietin (rHuEPO) and was universally reference product as per the recommendation provided by European Medicines Agency. EPIAO® is a biosimilar formulation of EPREX®, and making it a 1:1 dose conversion from EPREX® according to recommendation of European Medicines Agency. This study evaluated the clinical efficacy and safety of EPIAO® in subjects with end-stage renal disease receiving hemodialysis after intravenous administration. ⋯ EPIAO® demonstrated promising effectiveness and manageable safety in patients with end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis.

Meta Analysis
The incidence and mortality rate of catheter-related neonatal pericardial effusion: A meta-analysis.
Neonatal pericardial effusion (PCE) is one of the most severe complications of central catheters in neonates with its rapid progression and high mortality. We aim to estimate the overall incidence and mortality of catheter-related neonatal PCE, more importantly, to identify possible predictors for clinical reference. ⋯ Central catheters in Seldinger Technique (with a guidewire) put neonates at greater risk of PCE and consequent death. Silicone catheters excel at avoiding deadly catheter-related PCE, which could be a better choice in neonatal intensive care units (NICU). When catheter-related PCE occurs, timely diagnosis and pericardiocentesis save lives.

Review Case Reports
Proteomics and genomics of a monomorphic epitheliotropic intestinal T-cell lymphoma: An extremely rare case report and short review of literature.
Monomorphic epitheliotropic intestinal T-cell lymphoma, formerly known as enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma, is an extremely rare, aggressive peripheral extranodal T-cell lymphoma, that is infrequent in native European and Caucasian populations. The current study presents the clinicopathological features, diagnostic approach, and clinical outcomes of this rare entity of lymphoma and highlights the importance of the early diagnosis of monomorphic epitheliotropic intestinal T-cell lymphoma (MEITL). ⋯ The current report highlights the importance of early diagnosis of MEITL owing to its poor prognosis and presents histopathological features that help distinguish MEITL from inflammatory bowel diseases and less aggressive T-cell lymphomas.

The gene cell migration inducing hyaluronidase 1 (CEMIP) is on chromosome 15q25 and codes for a 150-kDa protein with an N-terminal secretion signal, a G8 domain, 2 GG domains, and several repeats. It was first described as a specific protein in the inner ear relating to nonsyndromic hearing loss. ⋯ Thus, CEMIP could be a novel and potential focus for tumor diagnosis and treatment, but further studies on the regulatory role of CEMIP in vivo and in vitro are still needed. Herein, we summarize the process in recent studies of CEMIP, especially in cancer research.
