Proton-pump inhibitors (PPIs) and vonoprazan are recommended as first-line therapies for erosive esophagitis (EE). However, it is uncertain how the magnitude of efficacy and safety of first-line therapy, the choice of individual PPIs or vonoprazan in the treatment of EE remains controversial. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of vonoprazan and PPIs in healing esophageal mucosal injury in patients with EE. ⋯ Ilaprazole, esomeprazole and vonoprazan have more advantages in mucosal erosion healing, there was no significant difference in the comparative safety among all interventions.

Nasal douching or irrigation has been recommended for adjunctive therapy of sinonasal diseases including allergic rhinitis (AR) for many years. Previous study reported large-volume high-pressure device as an effective standard application, but the solutions was remains controversy. This study systematically review the clinical efficacy of nasal irrigation with various solutions for adults with AR from medical literature. ⋯ The results of the systematic review will summarize the efficacy of various nasal irrigation for adults with AR, so it can be used as clinician recommendation.

Case Reports
Successful rescue of renal transplantation with cardiac arrest after electrical storm: A case report.
Most patients with end-stage chronic kidney disease are associated with complications such as renal hypertension, renal anemia, hyperkalemia, water-sodium retention, and disorders of acid-base balance after long-term renal replacement therapy, which can lead to increased cardiac burden, some degree of myocardial damage, and finally progress to arrhythmia and heart failure. These are the main reasons why patients with chronic kidney disease are prone to cardiovascular events after renal transplantation. ⋯ This case of adequate resuscitation can provide experience and a basis for CPR of patients with in-hospital complications of cardiovascular events for a long time.

Warm needling is a type of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which uses burned moxa to generate warmth and exerts a therapeutic effect on human skin. Additionally, based on TCM theory, warm needling could improve deficiency-cold syndrome. Research has found that warm needling has analgesic effects as well as effects on the immune system, endocrine system, nervous system, and lower urinary tract symptoms. However, the mechanism of warm needling on the meridians is not fully understood. In modern studies, the electric characteristics of the meridians have been discovered and the combination of semiconductor and TCM theory could explain the meridian phenomena through physics. However, there is no known research exploring the relationship between thermal effect and electric property on the meridians. ⋯ This protocol aims to explore the thermal effect on the electric characteristics of meridians in a warm needling model and provide a scientific explanation of TCM through the aspect of physics.

Observational Study
Relationship between intraoperative tidal volume and acute kidney injury following off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting: A retrospective observational study.
The effect of intraoperative tidal volume (VT) on clinical outcomes after off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCAB) has not been studied. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between intraoperative tidal volume (VT) and acute kidney injury (AKI ) after OPCAB. A total of 1049 patients who underwent OPCAB between January 2009 and December 2018 were analyzed. ⋯ The risk of AKI was not significantly higher in the high than the low VT group (OR: 1.15, 95% CI: 0.80-1.66; P = .459); however, subgroup analyses revealed that a high VT may increase the risk of AKI in males, patients aged < 70 years, with chronic kidney disease, a left ventricular ejection fraction < 35%, or a long duration of surgery. High intraoperative VTs were not associated with an increased risk of AKI after OPCAB. Nonetheless, it may increase the risk of AKI in certain subgroups, such as younger age, male sex, reduced renal and cardiac function, and a long surgery time.
