Patient-centered nursing holistic care is of utmost important to the nursing profession, and humanistic care cultivation has become a global nursing education concern. This study aimed to examine the relationship among emotional intelligence, empathy and humanistic care ability in nursing students, and to determine whether positive emotional intelligence could mediate the relationship between empathy and humanistic care ability. This study used a cross-sectional, descriptive design. ⋯ Obviously, there was positive correlation between positive emotional intelligence and empathy (R = 0.37, P < .01), and positive correlation between humanistic care ability and emotional intelligence (R = 0.62, P < .01), and empathy (R = 0.57, P < .01). Furthermore, emotional intelligence (β = 0.21, P < .01) had a significant mediating effect on the relationship between humanistic care ability and empathy. Nurse educators should improve the empathy of nursing students by developing and implementing emotional intelligence programs, in order to improve their humanistic care ability.

Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a neurological motor disorder with a high prevalence. The treatment efficacy of RLS is unsatisfactory. Radix Paeoniae Alba (RPA) can effectively treat RLS symptoms such as the discomfort of the legs. ⋯ A total of 207 Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes signaling pathways were obtained, including the lipid and atherosclerosis pathway, the endocrine resistance pathway, the prolactin signaling pathway, and the IL-17 signaling pathway. The components and the core targets completed molecular docking stably. RPA has multi-component, multi-target, and multi-pathway characteristics in treating RLS, which could provide a basis for future research and improve clinical efficacy.

To compare the different techniques of managing the anterior cervical muscle group during endoscopic thyroidectomy via the trans-thoraco-areolar approach. A total of 90 patients with thyroid tumors less than 3 cm were evaluated. The time for each intraoperative step, total surgery duration, intraoperative blood loss volume, pathology results, number of lymph nodes dissected and patient satisfaction with esthetics were assessed. ⋯ There are significant differences between the 2 muscle management methods in handling and suturing muscles. Both methods have satisfactory postoperative outcomes for resection of thyroid nodules with diameters ≤3 cm. For tumors located in the upper pole, transection of the anterior cervical muscles confers higher feasibility of the thyroidectomy technique; however, suturing becomes difficult in such scenarios.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and its long-term outcomes may be jointly caused by a wide range of clinical, social, and economic characteristics. Studies aiming to identify mechanisms for SARS-CoV-2 morbidity and mortality must measure and account for these characteristics to arrive at unbiased, accurate conclusions. We sought to inform the design, measurement, and analysis of longitudinal studies of long-term outcomes among people infected with SARS-CoV-2. ⋯ Risk factors for SARS-CoV-2 infection were developed into a consensus directed acyclic graph for mortality that included two minimally sufficient adjustment sets. We present a collectively developed and iteratively refined list of data elements for observational research in SARS-CoV-2 infection and disease. By accounting for these elements, studies aimed at identifying causal pathways for long-term outcomes of SARS-CoV-2 infection can be made more informative.

The focus of research in the treatment of osteoporosis (OP) has evolved from promoting bone formation and inhibiting bone resorption to current stem cell therapy. Due to their multipotent differentiation properties, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) can repair degenerated bones through transplantation, and have become a new method for the treatment of OP. ⋯ The research hotspots in this field mainly focused on the mechanism of bone regeneration, proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow MSCs, and the expression of osteogenic-related genes. The future research trends in this field are predicted to be the mechanism of action of microRNA and long non-coding RNA on MSCs and their relationship with OP, the mechanism of MSCs adipogenic and osteogenic differentiation, and tissue engineering scaffolds applications.
