Meta Analysis
The impact of body mass index on prostate cancer: An updated systematic review and meta-analysis.
Increasing evidence suggested obesity was associated with the risk of prostate cancer. Also, the association between prostate cancer risk and obesity has received much attention in recent years, but the results are still unclear. Therefore, the current systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the impact of body mass index (BMI) on prostate cancer. ⋯ Prostate cancer is a common malignancy that poses a threat to the health of men. Obesity is associated with a higher risk of death from prostate cancer based on the findings of the included studies. Furthermore, wherever possible, the impact of weight change on prostate cancer patient mortality should be investigated.

The mean kurtosis (MK) and fractional anisotropy (FA) in patients of Parkinson's disease (PD) are usually measured by diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), separately. ⋯ This indicates that the sharp difference detected between PD patients and HCs can be detected by DKI and DTI. By further discussing results, we found that MK could be more sensitive diagnostic biomarker than FA toward PD diagnosis.

Kyung-ok-ko (KOK), a traditional medicinal formula in East Asia, has been recently studied across various fields. However, comprehensive reviews of clinical applications of KOK targeting clinical and experimental studies are lacking. Therefore, the application of KOK is being limited to the range of tonic medicines. ⋯ Fifty-one experimental studies reported the antioxidant activity, neuroprotective activity, anticancer effect, anti-inflammatory activity, immunological activity, growth promotion, impacts on cardiovascular system diseases, gastrointestinal system diseases, respiratory system diseases, and metabolic bone disease, hepatoprotective function, and antifatigue function of KOK, which were considered effective and safe in consumptive, chronic, metabolic, inflammatory, and immune diseases. We identified the effectiveness of KOK in the treatment of a wide range of diseases. However, further clinical studies are warranted in the future.

Short-term prognosis for hepatocellular carcinoma patients with lung metastasis: A retrospective cohort study based on the SEER database.
Our study aimed to develop a prediction model to predict the short-term mortality of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with lung metastasis. The retrospective data of HCC patients with lung metastasis was from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results registration database between 2010 and 2015. 1905 patients were randomly divided into training set (n = 1333) and validation set (n = 572). There were 1092 patients extracted from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database 2015 to 2019 as the validation set. ⋯ We further chose the logistic regression prediction model and built the prognostic nomogram. We have developed a prediction model for predicting short-term mortality with 9 easily acquired predictors of HCC patients with lung metastasis, which performed well in the internal and external validation. It could assist clinicians to adjust treatment strategies in time to improve the prognosis.

Comparison of the C-MAC D-blade video laryngoscope and the McCoy laryngoscope for double-lumen endotracheal tube intubation: A prospective randomized controlled study.
Inserting a double-lumen endotracheal tube (DLT) poses more challenge than inserting a single-lumen tube. The C-MAC D-blade videolaryngoscope is a useful alternative to the direct laryngoscope. However, no study has compared its performance with that of the McCoy laryngoscope, which has a hyperangulated blade tip similar to that of the C-MAC D-blade. We aimed to compare the performance of the C-MAC D-blade videolaryngoscope with that of the McCoy laryngoscope in DLT intubation. ⋯ Although the time taken for intubation was comparable between the 2 intubation devices, the C-MAC D-blade videolaryngoscope facilitated glottis visualization and reduced the intubation difficulty scale better than the McCoy laryngoscope in patients undergoing DLT intubation.
