Severe congenital neutropenia caused by ELANE gene mutation: A case report and literature review.
The Severe congenital neutropenia (SCN) is a rare genetic disease characterized by a deficiency of mature neutrophils in the bone marrow and peripheral blood disorders. After a BALF ACER examination, the patient was found to have a rareMycobacterium abscess infection. ⋯ ELANE gene-related SCN is rare in children, and the possibility of this disease should be considered in children with recurrent severe bacterial infections and a significant reduction in neutrophils in the peripheral blood shortly after birth. In addition to strengthening nursing care and actively preventing and controlling infection, other rare bacterial infections should be considered in clinical practice.

Development of convolutional neural network model for diagnosing tear of anterior cruciate ligament using only one knee magnetic resonance image.
Deep learning is an advanced machine learning approach used in diverse areas such as image analysis, bioinformatics, and natural language processing. In the current study, using only one knee magnetic resonance image of each patient, we attempted to develop a convolutional neural network (CNN) to diagnose anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear. We retrospectively recruited 164 patients who had knee injury and underwent knee magnetic resonance imaging evaluation. ⋯ Of the included subjects, 79% were assigned randomly to the training set and the remaining 21% were assigned to the test set to measure the model performance. The area under the curve was 0.941 (95% CI, 0.862-1.000) for the classification of intact and tears of the ACL. We demonstrated that a CNN model trained using one knee magnetic resonance image of each patient could be helpful in diagnosing ACL tear.

Effects of a lower limb rehabilitation robot with various training modes in patients with stroke: A randomized controlled trial.
The effect of robot-assisted gait training has been demonstrated to improve gait recovery in patients with stroke. The aim of this study was to determine effects of robot-assisted gait training with various training modes in patients post stroke. ⋯ This study suggested that Healbot T-assisted gait training benefited patients with stroke. The Healbot T with pelvic motion and CIMT modes were more helpful in improving balance and walking ability and lower limb strength, respectively, compared with conventional physiotherapy.

Phase-lag entropy (PLE) based on functional connectivity between different regions of the brain may be superior to conventional depth of anesthesia (DoA) methods for monitoring changes in consciousness. However, few studies have compared the PLE and bispectral index (BIS) methods for monitoring consciousness during clinical anesthesia, such as total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) or anesthesia via inhalation. Therefore, we evaluated differences between the PLE and BIS methods in clinical anesthesia, including TIVA using propofol and anesthesia with sevoflurane. ⋯ For monitoring DoA during general anesthesia and surgery, PLE values vary less than BIS values; thus, PLE may be more reliable for monitoring changes in consciousness. However, further studies are needed to evaluate the clinical application of these methods in general anesthesia.

Previous studies have shown that mean corpuscular volume (MCV) levels are associated with the prognosis of patients with cardiovascular disease. However, the relationship between MCV levels and mortality in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) remains unclear. Patients with ICH were extracted from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-III database. ⋯ In subgroups analysis's the results remained stable. We demonstrated that MCV at admission was positively associated with 30-day mortality. The Kaplan-Meier (KM) method was used to plot survival curves of three groups with different admission MCV levels.
