Falls represent an important adverse effect associated with knee osteoarthritis and result in a significant financial burden on the healthcare system. Therefore, identification of fall predictors is essential to minimize fall incidence. However, few studies have investigated falls and fall predictors, particularly focused on the fear of falls and proprioception. ⋯ The risk of falls was higher in patients with higher KOOS symptoms, fear of falls, diagnosis of low back pain and diabetes mellitus, and increased body mass index than in the other groups (odds ratio 1.41, 2.65, 1.27, 3.45, and 1.10, respectively. Our study shows that knee proprioception and ROM serve as protective factors against falls, whereas KOOS symptoms, fear of falls, low back pain, diabetes mellitus, and body mass index were associated with a high risk of falls, with diabetes mellitus and fear of falls being the most significant risk factors. These findings may be useful to policy makers to develop a fall prevention program that can be implemented in community health care centers across Indonesia to deliver individualized, person-centered care and improve fall prevention strategies through a systematic process comprising evaluation, intervention, and monitoring to minimize fall risk.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have been widely used in the treatment of various types of cancers worldwide, which is the most significant breakthrough in cancer therapy in recent years. Despite their excellent benefits in anti-tumor efficacy, a subset of patients will experience various autoimmune toxicities, termed as immune-related adverse events (irAEs), which can affect almost any organ systems, but related to the pulmonary and pancreatic islets simultaneously has rarely been reported and discussed. ⋯ With the widespread use of ICIs, there will be more patients developing these rare but severe irAEs in clinical practice, which should attract great attention of both clinicians and patients.

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) co-infection has become a pressing global public health problem. Although tuberculosis (TB) is both treatable and curable, it has been exacerbated by the HIV/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) epidemic. HIV-MTB co-infected patients have a variety of disease-specific, and treatment-related factors that can adversely affect their treatment outcomes. ⋯ A total of 3677 registered HIV-MTB co-infected patients were enrolled. After adjusting for other variables, male, advanced age, receiving TB treatment at the municipal medical institution, being diagnosed with external pulmonary TB, referral or tracing, being sputum smear positive, not initiating antiretroviral therapy (ART) and not using fixed-dose combinations were the main risk factors for treatment failure of HIV-MTB co-infected patients in Sichuan province. Sex, age, hospital level, patient source, other diagnostic factors (e.g., sputum smear results, anatomical site of TB), and factors of therapeutic schemes (e.g., antiretroviral therapy, fixed-dose combinations) may serve as risk factors to estimate the likely treatment outcome of HIV-TB co-infection.

This study aims to demonstrate current research priorities and predict future trends in the link between kidney disease and gut microbiota by means of scientometric analysis. We collected nearly 20 years (2001-2020) of publications related to kidney disease and gut microbiota in the Web of Science database. CiteSpace was used to evaluate the knowledge mapping. ⋯ The most important of them are FRANCE (0.23), Fed Univ Parana UFPR (0.13), and VAZIRI ND (1.14), owing to their highest centrality. In addition, the cited documents that have contributed the most to the co-citations are Wong J (2014); the most key cited reference is Rossi M (2016); the most commonly used keywords are chronic kidney disease, gut microbiota and indoxyl sulfate. Through scientometric analysis of the past 20 years, we obtained the knowledge map of this information, which has important guiding significance for accurately and quickly locating trends in this field.

Viral hepatitis B is caused by the hepatitis B virus, which is characterized by liver lesions. Bupleuri Radix and Scutellariae Radix are the main traditional medicine pairs with remarkable efficacy in hepatitis B. However, their molecular mechanisms are incompletely understood. ⋯ KEGG enrichment resulted in 107 pathways, including cancer, hepatitis B, and TNF signaling pathways. According to the molecular docking technique, quercetin, wogonin, baicalein, and kaempferol had strong binding activities with TNF, MAPK3, and IL-6. In this study, we initially identified various molecular targets and multiple pathways involved in hepatitis B treatment with Bupleuri Radix and Scutellariae Radix.
