Practical Guidelines for Safe Childbirth Checklist has not been widely used in medical institutions at all levels in China. This study aims to understand the current status of knowledge, attitude and practice of obstetric medical staff toward the Safe Childbirth Checklist and analyze its influencing factors to provide a reference for establishing the promotion of the checklist. Convenience sampling was used in a cross-sectional survey of 685 obstetric medical staff in Chongqing using a self-designed questionnaire to analyze their knowledge, attitude and practice of the checklist. ⋯ Mediating effects presented in the facilitation and inhibition of attitude in safe childbirth. Obstetrics medical staff know the checklist well, however, their attitudes and practices need to be improved. Managers should take targeted measures to strengthen the attitudes and practices of obstetric medical staff toward safe childbirth and promote the use of the checklist, thus providing a powerful safeguard for higher delivery quality and safer delivery.

End-stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant public health issue with an estimated increasing burden over the next 10 years. Early prediction of patients with a high risk of ESRD progression is crucial to monitor and initiate appropriate interventions, of which HLA alleles have been proposed as promising biomarkers. This cross-sectional study described HLA profiles of a Vietnamese cohort and investigated the association between HLA alleles and ESRD. ⋯ HLA typing was performed using Luminex-based PCR-SSO technology. We found HLA-A*02, A*11, A*24, B*15, B*07, DRB1*12, DRB1*09, DQA1*01, DQA1*06, DQB1*03 and DQB1*05 as the most common alleles, which is similar to the general Vietnamese population and other countries in East and South-east Asia. HLA-B*07 (P = .040), DQA1*06 (P = .031), and DQB1*03 (P = .036) were susceptible to ESRD, while HLA-B*27 (P = .024) and DQB1*02 (P = .006) were associated with a decreased risk of ESRD.

Efficacy and safety of HIFU in combination with TACE in unresectable pediatric HB: A randomized, controlled, single-center clinical trial.
Hepatoblastoma (HB) is the most common liver tumor in children, and the main treatment for HB is currently surgery. Studies have shown that transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) has significant efficacy, but there are relatively few studies on TACE combined with HIFU in China. ⋯ Comparative study of HB in children treated with HIFU combined with TACE is more effective, effectively improving the immune level of patients, significantly increasing the remission rate, which can improve the tumor necrosis and improve the survival quality of patients, and is a better choice for HB in children.

Prolonged electrocardiography registration does not lead to increased diagnosis of atrial fibrillation in pulmonary embolism patients, but sex affects generic health-related quality of life: Findings from a randomized clinical trial.
Pulmonary embolism (PE) is the third most common cause of cardiovascular death. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia and is commonly detected in patients after embolic stroke. In this study, we set out to study if undiagnosed AF could be detected in patients with PE. In survivors of PE, persisting symptoms and exercise limitations are common. The disease burden of PE on quality of life (QoL) has received scarce attention. The primary aim was to study the prevalence of AF in patients with newly diagnosed PE. The secondary aim was to study QoL in PE patients. ⋯ Screening for AF in PE patients did not yield a significant proportion of new cases. QoL is more affected in female patients with PE, and increased awareness of this is suggested.

Bacillus Calmette-Guerin vaccine is administered for protection against tuberculosis and may also have beneficial effects against some viral respiratory tract infections. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the relationship between Bacillus Calmette-Guerin vaccination which is confirmed by BCG scar, and the frequency and course of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Among 490 patients, 400 patients who accepted to participate in the study were included. ⋯ When groups with and without COVID-19 history compared, no statistically significant difference was found with the presence and number of Bacillus Calmette-Guerin scars (P > 0,05). No association was found between the presence or number of BCG scars and the frequency and course of COVID-19 in individuals with Bacillus Calmette-Guerin vaccination history confirmed by the presence of Bacillus Calmette-Guerin vaccine scars. Currently, the most important protection against COVID-19 is the COVID-19 vaccine.
