This study sought to clarify the mechanism of action of Miao medicine Tongfengting decoction in the treatment of gout through network pharmacology and molecular docking by searching for its key targets and related pathways. ⋯ Miao medicine Tongfengting decoction probably regulates immune mechanism using a multi-component, multi-target, and multi-pathway strategy to reduce inflammatory response and exert its therapeutic effect on gout.

Bladder cancer (BC) is among the most frequent cancers globally. Although substantial efforts have been put to understand its pathogenesis, its underlying molecular mechanisms have not been fully elucidated. ⋯ These results offer unique insight into the pathogenesis of BC and recognize CDH11, COL6A3, EDNRA, and SERPINF1 as potential biomarkers with diagnostic and prognostic roles in BC.

Lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) is still a threat to human health. Metagenomics next-generation sequencing (NGS) provides an efficient and unbiased way to identify LRTI pathogens, and has been shown to have several advantages over traditional methods. However, its application is currently limited in low-resource settings. ⋯ The time taken to perform the NGS tests was significantly shorter than that taken with the traditional method. NGS analysis of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, in combination with traditional pathogen detection methods, can improve the efficiency of pathogen detection. More attention should be paid to the regional epidemic characteristics of infectious pathogens in LRTI.

Catecholamine crisis after endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle biopsy: A case report.
The function and use of endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNB) has developed in recent years, particularly in distinguishing malignant from benign masses. It is a generally safe method that can be completed without any uncommon complications. Here, although no complications from EUS-FNB were noted, we report about an unexpected catecholamine crisis that occurred after EUS-FNB. ⋯ The case presented here gives a caution of complication that may occur after EUS-FNB. Although EUS-FNB is known to be relatively safe, careful evaluation is required when performing biopsy of lesions around the aorta.

To investigate the impact of lactate metabolism genes, lactate metabolism-related genes (LMRG), and immune infiltrating cells on the prognosis of breast cancer. LMRG was identified via single-cell sequencing. Immune cell infiltration was obtained by the CIBERSORT method. ⋯ NK cell activation was most relevant to lactate metabolism. The combined prognostic model outperformed the individual model, with the area under the curve ranging from 0.7 to 0.8 in all three cohorts. The lactate metabolism-related combination model assisted in evaluating breast cancer prognosis, providing new insights for treatment, particularly immunotherapy.
