Case Reports
Bipolar clavicle fractures treatment using medial and lateral double plates: A case report.
Clavicle fractures are common, accounting for 2.6 to 4% of all fractures, which typically result from direct injuries, including direct force on the shoulder after falling. However, bipolar clavicle fractures are rare, accounting for only 2.8% of all clavicle fractures, and their injury mechanism is speculated to evolve from two independent and continuous forces affecting the clavicle. Due to its low incidence, there is great controversy regarding the treatment of this fracture, as there is no relevant treatment standard or guideline to date. ⋯ The treatment of bipolar clavicle fractures remains controversial. This study provides evidence of a feasible method to treat bipolar clavicle fractures: trans-sternoclavicular locking plate and lateral clavicular hook plate treatment.

Multiple nutritional therapies are currently available for patients with liver cirrhosis, yet many interventions have not been compared head-to-head within randomized clinical trials. ⋯ Available evidence suggests that EN + intestinal probiotics appear to be the most effective strategy for patients with cirrhosis compared with other interventions.

Case Reports
Peripapillary hyper-reflective ovoid mass-like structure and dome-shaped maculopathy: A case report.
Peripapillary hyperreflective ovoid mass-like structures (PHOMS) and dome-shaped macula (DSM) are 2 optical coherence tomography findings reported in 2018 and 2008, respectively. To date, there have been no ophthalmic case reports of concomitant PHOMS and DSM. ⋯ PHOMS and DSM are associated with myopia; myopia may be a mediator between PHOMS and DSM. Dome-like structural changes may occur in different parts of the retina (optic disc and macula), caused by asymmetric myopic posterior scleral growth.

Comparative Study
Comparison of D&C and hysteroscopy after UAE in the treatment of cesarean scar pregnancy: A case-control study.
Cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) stands for the severe complication secondary to cesarean section, and its incidence shows an increasing trend recently. However, no consensus has been reached about the CSP treatment. This study aims to explore the necessity of hysteroscopy (H/S) after preventive uterine artery embolization (UAE). ⋯ This study reveals no obvious difference between UAE + D&C and UAE + H/S in terms of the clinical efficacy and safety, except for the time of CSP mass disappearance and anesthesia-related side effects. The hospitalization cost is more expensive for UAE + H/S, but the postoperative length of stay is shorter for UAE + H/S. UAE + H/S is associated with the risk of anesthesia-associated side effects.

Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is associated with chronic inflammation in somatic structures, which alters sensory afferents and leads to plastic changes in the nervous system. ⋯ The study contributes to a better understanding of the neurophysiological changes seen in the cingulate medium cortex, decrease in CPM and motor response threshold/intracortical pain facilitation. Advances in neuroplasticity studies may aid in the screening for early diagnosis of knee OA in the future. However, more studies are necessary.
