Congenital soft tissue Ewing's sarcoma: A case report of pre- and postnatal magnetic resonance imaging findings.
Most congenital soft tissue masses are benign. Ewing's sarcoma (ES) is a highly malignant tumor that commonly occurs in children and adolescents and rarely occurs during the fetal period. Cases of congenital soft tissue ES with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings are scarce. To the best of our knowledge, no previous reports have described the pre- and postnatal MRI findings of ES. ⋯ Fetal or neonatal soft tissue ES may be clinically misdiagnosed as a hemangioma. It is important to suspect this through an imaging approach such as diffusion-weighted imaging.

To investigate the clinicopathological characteristics of patients with high-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma (HG-ESS). The clinicopathological characteristics, treatments, and prognostic information of consecutive HG-ESS patients were collected from medical records and then evaluated. A total of 40 women were included in the analysis. ⋯ FIGO stage could effectively predict the prognosis of patients with this lethal disease. Immunohistochemical markers, vimentin+/CD10+ (local or very weak), in combination with desmin-/AE1/AE3-, may be helpful for improving the diagnostic accuracy of this lethal condition. The therapeutic roles of adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy warrant further investigation.

In current literature, no studies evaluated effect of energy-based vessel-sealing-devices on quality of life after sutureless total thyroidectomies. This study aimed to identify any potential differences between two energy-based vessel-sealing-devices (Harmonic Focus, Ligasure LF1212) in patients with benign thyroid disorders who underwent sutureless total thyroidectomy. ⋯ Especially in elderly patients with worsening eye conditions and cognitive functions, use of Harmonic may enhance patients' outcome by increasing quality of life in addition to optimizing surgical outcome when compared to Ligasure.
