Effects of stabilizing reversal technique and vestibular rehabilitation exercise on dizziness and balance ability in patients with vestibular neuritis: An observational study.
Vestibular neuritis is a common disease of peripheral dizziness. Studies have shown that vestibular rehabilitation exercise (VRE) and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) are effective to treat the symptoms of vestibular neuritis. However, the effect of VRE and PNF on the balance ability and dizziness in this patient cohort remains unclear. ⋯ At pre- and post-exercise, paired t test was performed to compare the within-group differences. After the program, DHI (45.40 ± 6.74 to 21.00 ± 7.07), VAS (5.90 ± 1.20 to 2.80 ± 0.92), BBS (45.10 ± 2.77 to 52.70 ± 1.83), and TUG (15.29 ± 1.13 to 12.06 ± 1.61) scores improved significantly in the VRE program group (P = .05). The VRE program combined with SRT was effective in reducing dizziness and increasing balance ability in patients with vestibular neuritis.

The prevalence of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has been described in 5% to 40% of autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) patients. The aim of our study was to evaluate the prevalence, endoscopic features, and outcome of IBD in association with AIP. A retrospective analysis including all consecutive patients with AIP and a histological diagnosis of IBD from 2010 to 2020 was performed. ⋯ The prevalence of UC in AIP patients was 17%. Mild pancolitis with a low rate of colectomy was found. Greater awareness is needed to avoid a delayed diagnosis of UC, and the dosage of fecal calprotectin levels could have a role in this setting.

Although previous studies have investigated the predictors of posterior communicating artery (PCoA) aneurysm rupture with clinical and radiologic parameters, the accessibility of "small PCoA aneurysms (<5 mm)" has rarely been reported. Here, we designed a study to identify the factors which are thought to be risky and prone to rupture in small PCoA aneurysms (<5 mm). A total of 114 patients diagnosed with PCoA aneurysm under 5 mm in size on digital subtraction angiography were retrospectively enrolled and divided into ruptured (n = 51) and unruptured (n = 63) groups. ⋯ In the comparison analysis, parameters of size ratio (P = .045), aspect ratio (P = .001), and bleb formation (P = .015) were significantly different between the 2 groups. In the regression model, the aspect ratio (P = .045) and bleb formation (P = .004) were significantly associated with the rupture of aneurysm. In respect of small (<5 mm) PCoA aneurysms of our cohort, morphologic parameters of "bleb formation" and "a high aspect ratio" are present more often in ruptured aneurysms as compared to unruptured aneurysms.

Vaginal dilator use to promote sexual wellbeing after radiotherapy in gynecological cancer survivors.
This study investigated the efficacy of a vaginal dilator (VD) for the treatment of radiation-induced vaginal stenosis (VS) and the effect of a VD on sexual quality of life. Fifty three patients with endometrial or cervical cancers participated in this prospective observational study. All participants were treated with radical or adjuvant external beam radiotherapy and/or brachytherapy. ⋯ Endometrial and cervical cancer survivors are encouraged to use VD to treat VS and for sexual rehabilitation after RT. This study recommends starting vaginal dilation no more than 3 months after treatment at least 2 to 3 times a week for 10 to 15 minutes over 12 months. However, larger, well-designed randomized clinical trials should be conducted to develop specific guidelines for VD use and efficacy in VS and sexual sexual quality of life after RT.

The intubation difficulty scale (IDS) includes 7 contributors that provide a comprehensive assessment of difficult intubation. However, the effect of each contributor is unclear, and the scale has not been revalidated recently and has not been validated in orient. This study determined the duration of successful intubation (DSI) for each of these 7 contributors. ⋯ We confirmed that each IDS contributor affects the DSI and validated a prediction model with 6 IDS contributors. This prediction model may facilitate the development of strategic plans for critical airway management. Furthermore, it could improve simulations and monitor learning progress and help provide valuable feedback.
