The incidence of simple obesity is increasing annually, with the number of obese people in all age groups increasing significantly. Obesity has become an important public health concern. Simple obesity affects not only appearance but also health. Obesity has an increasing impact on individuals, families, and society. Therefore, the treatment of obesity is becoming increasingly important. Prior studies have shown that Tuina combined with diet and exercise is capable of producing improvements in body weight and fasted health markers. In recent years, there are many clinical studies on the intervention of simple obesity by Tuina combined with diet and exercise, however, no study systematically evaluated the clinical efficacy. The purpose of this study is to evaluate its effects of Tuina combined with diet and exercise on people with simple obesity. ⋯ INPLASY202210079.

Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS), are common inflammatory lesions of the oral mucous, usually round or ovoid, circumscribed by erythematous haloes with a yellow-grey floor and mostly painful. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of fire needle in the treatment of RAS. ⋯ INPLASY2021120118.

Risk factors and clinical outcomes of postgastrectomy sarcopenia newly developed after curative resection for gastric cancer.
This study aimed to investigate the risk factors and clinical impact of newly developed sarcopenia after surgical resection on the prognosis of patients undergoing curative gastrectomy for gastric cancer (GC). The clinicopathological data of 573 consecutive patients with GC who underwent curative gastrectomy were reviewed. Their skeletal muscle mass and abdominal fat volume were measured using abdominal computed tomography. ⋯ Especially, there was a significant difference between nonsarcopenic and postgastrectomy sarcopenic groups (P = .009). However, there was no significant difference in the 5-year disease-free survival among the groups (P = .49). Since newly developed sarcopenia after surgical resection had an influence on the overall survival, patients with high sarcopenia risks after curative gastrectomy may require early nutritional support.

Prediction and types of dead-space fraction during exercise in male chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients.
A high dead space (VD) to tidal volume (VT) ratio during peak exercise (VD/VTpeak) is a sensitive and consistent marker of gas exchange abnormalities; therefore, it is important in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). However, it is necessary to use invasive methods to obtain VD/VTpeak, as noninvasive methods, such as end-tidal PCO2 (PETCO2peak) and PETCO2 adjusted with Jones' equation (PJCO2peak) at peak exercise, have been reported to be inconsistent with arterial PCO2 at peak exercise (PaCO2peak). Hence, this study aimed to generate prediction equations for VD/VTpeak using statistical techniques, and to use PETCO2peak and PJCO2peak to calculate the corresponding VD/VTpeaks (i.e., VD/VTpeakETVD/VTpeakJ). ⋯ There were no significant differences in the PCO2peak values and the corresponding VD/VTpeak values across the three types (both p = NS). In subjects with COPD, VD/VTpeak can be estimated using statistical methods and the PETCO2peak and PJCO2peak. These methods may have similar predictive power and thus can be used in clinical practice.

The importance of fall prevention rehabilitations has been well recognized. Recently telerehabilitation was developed, however, there have been no reports on telerehabilitation with direct support from specialists for fall prevention among the elderly. We herein reported telerehabilitation by caregivers educated by our novel educational program. ⋯ Our telerehabilitation program exhibited significant effects in elderly people and improved the degree of understanding concerning rehabilitation among caregivers in facilities for elderly people.
