Although single-cytokine inhibitors can be considered in treating severe or refractory Behçet disease (BD), these biologic agents are associated with potential therapeutic failure due to the multi-cytokine pathogenesis involving Th1- and Th17-type cytokines with activated Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription signaling pathways. Notably, there is an increasing trend toward the use of small-molecule targeted drug tofacitinib (TOF), a pan-Janus kinase inhibitor, with immediate-release formulations for treating patients with severe or refractory systemic vasculitis involving different vessel sizes. Despite no reported efficacy of extended-release formulations in refractory BD yet, such a dosage form has pharmacokinetic parameters that are comparable to those of conventional immediate-release formulations. ⋯ Our clinical observations implicate the oral convenience and therapeutic efficacy of extended-release TOF formulations in controlling the disease activity of BD.

Tracheal bronchus is an aberrant bronchus that arises directly from the carina of the trachea. It was rare, with only 0.1% to 2% on the right and 0.3% to 1% on the left side of the lateral wall. Tracheal bronchus is usually asymptomatic and can be accidentally detected during bronchoscopy or computed tomography (CT). ⋯ Surgery can reliably remove bronchial leiomyomas. When crossing. the tracheal bronchus, it is important to be cautious about the pulmonary. In such situations, bronchoscopy and three-dimensional-CT are beneficial for surgery.

When it comes to preterm newborns, respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) is the most frequent respiratory condition. Despite the fact that it is well acknowledged that preterm delivery plays a significant role, the causes of lung damage are still not completely understood. In newborns with extremely low birth weight and neonatal RDS, nasal continuous positive airway pressure has been suggested as the first respiratory assistance for spontaneous breathing. In the current research, we aim to carry out a meta-analysis to assess the effectiveness and safety of high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and non-invasive continuous positive airway pressure (nCPAP) in patients with neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS). ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/BKSQ5.

Different studies have shown the prevalence of high level of social adjustment among English learners with hearing impairment. The objective of the present study was to investigate the effect of peer tutoring as a social adjustment intervention among English learners with hearing impairment in special primary schools in Enugu State, Nigeria. ⋯ Peer tutoring can be used to alleviate social adjustment problem of pupils with language hearing impairment. The implications of the results for curriculum innovation were highlighted.

Transperineal pelvic drainage combined with lateral position to promote perineal wound healing after abdominoperineal resection: A prospective cohort trial.
For the rectal cancer <5 cm from anal margin, extralevator abdominoperineal resection (eAPR) has been accepted widely by surgeons. However, the rate of perineal infection following up eAPR is approximately 70%. We did the study with the aim of evaluating the effect and safety of transperineal pelvic drainage combined with lateral position (TPDLP) on perineal wound in patients undergoing eAPR. ⋯ In the present study, we found that TPDLP generated a favorable prognosis for perineal wounds with acceptable side-effects.
