Intercalary staphyloma after strabismus surgery in a patient with Marfan syndrome: A case report.
A few cases of intercalary staphyloma have been reported in patients with Marfan syndrome, but we believe that this is the first case of intercalary staphyloma in Marfan syndrome developing after strabismus surgery. ⋯ Clinicians need to be alert to the possibility of this serious complication in Marfan syndrome patients after minor surgical trauma, which can occur during uneventful strabismus surgery.

Hypocomplementemia has been reported in patients with rheumatoid arthritis treated with tocilizumab (TCZ), but its long-term consequences are unknown. We assessed the long-term outcome of patients treated with TCZ who developed hypocomplementemia regarding serious bacterial infections or autoimmune diseases (AID). The charts of patients treated with TCZ at two rheumatology centers were reviewed retrospectively. ⋯ Hypocomplementemia was not associated with serious bacterial infections or new onset AID. Decreased complement levels were associated with treatment longevity. The role of monitoring complement level in predicting treatment response or assessing disease activity deserves further investigation.

Diffuse midline glioma with H3-K27M mutation: A rare case with GFAP-positive anucleate whorled patterns.
Diffuse midline glioma with H3-K27M mutation is an infiltrative high-grade glioma, with predominantly astrocytic differentiation. ⋯ This case report provides information on the microscopic morphological features of diffuse midline glioma with H3K27M mutation, which can help pathologists to make a definitive diagnosis of this tumor.

Prospective case-control studyThis study aimed to investigate the effect of self-quarantine on the changes in low back symptoms and activities of daily living (ADL) due to low physical activity because of the COVID-19 pandemic in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS). The frequency and intensity of low back and leg pain have reportedly increased in healthy subjects because of self-quarantine. Patients with LSS who self-quarantined from baseline (SQ group) were matched to controls who did not self-quarantine (non-SQ group), based on age, sex, medication, ADL, and the numeric rating scale score for low back symptoms. ⋯ However, no improvement in ADL was found. Self-quarantine had an unfavorable impact for health-related quality of life. The effect of self-quarantine can influence the treatment results of LSS.

The objective of this study was to explore the clinical, laboratory, and imaging features of severe Chlamydia psittaci pneumonia in order to improve early diagnosis and treatment success rates. ⋯ A poultry contact history and typical flu-like symptoms are early indicators of Chlamydia psittaci pneumonia. Substantial elevations in procalcitonin, creatine kinase, and brain natriuretic peptide indicate severe disease. Metagenomic next-generation sequencing is useful for diagnosis. Early empirical antibiotic therapy with quinolones can reduce the mortality in critically ill patients.
