A minimally invasive approach has been widely used for the treatment of calcaneal fractures, however, its downside in exposing the calcaneal body, affects fracture reduction. We used a Steinmann pin retractor mentioned in our previous case series study to solve this issue. To further evaluate the efficacy of this reduction technique, and elucidate its mechanism, we compared it with the control groups in this study. ⋯ Steinmann pin retractor effected a sound reduction. It also manifested radiological and clinical advantages over the S and L protocols. By reason of the aforementioned, it could be recommended as useful reduction equipment for the minimally invasive treatment of calcaneal fractures.

Prognosis predictability of the nigrostriatal tract (NST) and corticoreticulospinal tract (CRT) of affected hemisphere at early stage for gait function at chronic stage were investigated using diffusion tensor tractography (DTT) in patients with a cerebral infarction. Thirty consecutive patients with middle cerebral artery (MCA) territory infarction were recruited. Functional ambulation category (FAC) was used to evaluate the gait function at chronic stage. ⋯ FAC score at chronic stage was associated more positively with TV of ipsilesional CRT (β = 0.532) than that of ipsilesional NST (β = 0.362). Ipsilesional NST and ipsilesional CRT at early stage had prognosis predictability for gait function at chronic stage in patients with an MCA infarction. Moreover, ipsilesional CRT had stronger predictability than ipsilesional NST.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is the most common kind of kidney cancer with poor prognosis. Necroptosis is a newly observed type of programmed cell death in recent years. However, the effects of necroptosis-related lncRNAs (NRlncRNAs) on ccRCC have not been widely explored. ⋯ In addition, the proposed signature was related to immunocyte infiltration. A nomogram model was also established to provide a more beneficial prognostic indicator for the clinic. Altogether, in the present study, the 6-lncRNA prognostic risk signature are trustworthy and effective indicators for predicting the prognosis of ccRCC.

Acupuncture and moxibustion (AM) are utilized to treat Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, no bibliometric analysis has explored this issue. Thus, this study investigated the status, hotspots and trends of AM in the treatment of AD. ⋯ This bibliometric study identified relevant hotspots and trends in research on AM in the treatment of AD, which can provide researchers with key information in this domain and help further explore new research directions.

Can intravenous lidocaine definitely attenuate propofol requirement and improve outcomes among colonoscopic patients under intravenous sedation?: A double-blinded, randomized controlled trial.
Propofol-sparing effect of lidocaine has not been fully elucidated because propofol is usually mixed with many medications in anesthetic practice. Therefore, the study aimed to verify the additive effect of intravenous lidocaine to propofol without other sedative medications and control the depth of anesthesia using the bispectral index (BIS) during colonoscopy in a prospective, randomized, double-blinded controlled trial. ⋯ Intravenous lidocaine produced a definitely effective reduced propofol requirement without other sedative agents and improved outcomes including patient satisfaction, duration in returning to BIS > 85, and sedation score during colonoscopy without adverse effects.
