This analysis aimed to assess the effect of decitabine combined with allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) in treating recurrent and refractory acute myeloid leukemia. ⋯ Decitabine combined with allo-HSCT can obtain lower recurrence risk and longer disease-free survival time, and improve the prognosis of patients. The safety is relatively stable. Due to the varying quality level of the included studies, the validation of multiple high-quality studies still needs improvement.

The emergence of new severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 variants, along with the waning of vaccine-induced immunity, has increased breakthrough infections and urged booster jabs and debates. In the short term, the administration of booster doses has been reported to be safe and enhance severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2-specific neutralizing antibody levels. However, the effects of these doses on the pandemic trajectory and herd immunity are unclear. There is insufficient evidence that a third booster shot of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine maintains longer immunity and covers new viral variants. The lack of sufficient evidence, combined with the fact that millions of people have not yet received 1 or 2 jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine, has raised concerns regarding the call for booster vaccinations. ⋯ Initially, the need for a booster dose was equivocal; however, several studies demonstrated the benefit of the booster dose over time. Adequate scientific information is required regarding the administration of booster doses to the general population as well as the high-risk individuals.

Clinicopathological and prognostic significance of SOX9 expression in gastric cancer patients: A meta-analysis.
SOX9 is a potential prognostic marker in gastric cancer (GC) patients. This meta-analysis aimed to highlight the clinicopathological and prognostic implications of SOX9 expression in GC patients. ⋯ SOX9 overexpression might be related to poor prognosis and could serve as a potential predictive marker of poor clinicopathological prognosis factor in GC patients.

Numerous studies have investigated the clinical significance of securin expression in solid cancers; however, the results have been inconsistent. Hence, we performed a meta-analysis of published studies to assess the clinical value of securin expression in patients with solid cancers. ⋯ Our study indicated that securin overexpression was positively associated with metastasis and inversely related to the prognosis of patients with solid cancers. However, additional high-quality studies should be conducted to validate these findings.

The aim of the present study was to perform clinical, biochemical, and radiological evaluation of the efficacy of mesenchymal stem cells derived from Wharton jelly (WJ) present within the human umbilical cord in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Between 2018 and 2019, 10 patients with knee osteoarthritis for whom the conservative treatment was not beneficial were included in the study. Patients were clinically, radiologically, and biochemically evaluated before treatment initiation. ⋯ In patients with knee osteoarthritis, intra-articular WJ-derived MSC injection causes significant pain reduction, satisfactory functional improvement, and increased patient satisfaction following a 1-year follow-up. These clinical improvements were supported by magnetic resonance images, along with changes in adiponectin and leptin levels in synovial fluid. Level of evidence: IV.
