The monocyte-to-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) ratio (MHR) is accepted as a novel marker for demonstrating inflammation. We investigated whether the monocyte-to-HDL ratio is related to the 90-day clinical prognosis of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) after intravenous thrombolysis (IVT). Patients with AIS treated with alteplase IVT were included consecutively, and clinical information and laboratory data were collected. ⋯ The optimal cutoff value of the MHR for predicting the 3-month outcome of acute pontine infarction was 0.621. Multivariate logistic regression revealed that the MHR (OR = 4.626, 95% CI: 1.156-18.512, P = .030) was strongly associated with poor prognosis in AIS. The MHR is an independent risk factor for the clinical prognosis of AIS patients receiving IVT therapy and shows a certain predictive value.

This study aims to demonstrate current research priorities and predict future trends of post-cesarean section analgesia by scientometric analysis. We collected nearly 20 years (2002-2021) of publications related to post-cesarean section analgesia in the web of science database. Citespace was applied to evaluate the knowledge mapping. ⋯ Through scientometric analysis of the past 20 years, we know the TAP blocks and drug selection in patient-controlled analgesia are the focus of future research. The USA, China, and Turkey have become the main research forces in this field, with high publication rates and centrality. This is important for accurately and quickly locating trends in this field.

Semitendinosus and Gracilis autografts are commonly used for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. However, its main drawback is individual variation in the tendon diameter. This study aimed to evaluate the usefulness of the anthropometric measurements for the prediction of Semitendinosus and Gracilis combined (quadrupled) strands graft diameter in arthroscopic ACL reconstruction among the Bengali population. ⋯ Correlations between the mean graft diameter with BMI (r = 0.018, and P = .891), body height (r = 0.011 and P = .933), and weight (r = 0.028 and P = .832) were not significant. Scatter diagrams also showed that the variables were not correlated. Anthropometries like BMI, body weight, or body height cannot be used in predicting Semitendinosus and Gracilis tendon graft diameter for arthroscopic ACL reconstruction among the Bengali population.

Compared with young patients, elderly patients with gastric cancer usually have lower muscle mass, poorer nutritional status, lower immunity, and worse cardiopulmonary function. Therefore, how to improve the prognosis of elderly gastric cancer patients after laparoscopic-assisted radical gastrectomy is the focus and difficulty of clinician. The aim of our study was to investigate the risk factors for postoperative complications of these patients. ⋯ Univariate analysis showed that age, preoperative red blood cell (RBC), preoperative albumin (ALB), preoperative C-reactive protein (CRP), preoperative hemoglobin (Hb), preoperative blood transfusion, preoperative lymphocytes, total cholesterol, CRP-to-ALB ratio, controlling nutritional status (CONUT) score, TNM stage were all the potential risk factors for postoperative complications. Binary logistic regression showed that CONUT, age and preoperative RBC were correlated with postoperative complications. For elderly gastric cancer patients after laparoscopic-assisted radical gastrectomy, CONUT, age and preoperative RBC were all the independent risk factors for overall postoperative complications and could be used as reliable indicators for judging the short-term prognosis.

Construction of a novel disulfidptosis-related signature for improving outcomes in hepatocellular carcinoma: Observational study.
Disulfidptosis is a novel form of metabolic-related regulated cell death (RCD) that is caused by disulfide stress caused by the accumulation of excess cystine in the cell. Targeting disulfide metabolism imbalance is an emerging strategy for the treatment of cancer. However, it is undetermined how disulfidptosis-related genes (DRGs) influence hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). ⋯ Finally, a quantitative nomogram was built with disulfidptosis score and several clinical characteristics. The disulfidptosis-related signature provides new insights into the tumor immune microenvironment and complexity in HCC. The disulfidptosis score can serve as a promising tool for personalized prognostic prediction of HCC patients and for customizing more effective immunotherapeutic strategies.
