Immune-related initiation, progress, metastasis and sensitivity to treatment associated with poor prognosis of patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). The role of Nucleolar protein interacting with the FHA domain of MKI67 (NIFK) in CRC remained to be investigated. We explore whether NIFK correlates with tumor immune infiltration and plays an important role in CRC patient prognosis. ⋯ Our results suggested that NIFK might be a biomarker associated with poor prognosis of CRC patients, and it would be a potential target for CRC therapy.

Mass vaccination is an effective method for controlling the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and limiting the consequent mortality due to severe COVID-19. After the second dose, immunity can decline in certain cases over time; therefore, a third booster dose should be administered. Therefore, the present study aimed to assess the immunogenicity of the third dose of the messenger ribonucleic acid BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine and determine the effect of the third booster dose of messenger ribonucleic acid COVID-19 vaccines, specifically (Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine/AZD1222), BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, and Sinopharm among healthcare workers. ⋯ In the 12th month, all 82 participants received Pfizer as a booster dose, and the highest mean SARS-CoV-2 anti-spike receptor-binding domain immunoglobulin G antibody in the 12th month belonged to those whose second dose was Pfizer (46.8835), followed by AstraZeneca (36.4635), and Sinopharm (21.7815). The Pfizer vaccine is highly effective in restoring SARS-CoV-2-specific immune responses and is well-tolerated. However, further investigation is required to determine the duration of disease protection of the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Metabolism is involved in the pathogenesis of hypersensitivity pneumonitis. To identify diagnostic feature biomarkers based on metabolism-related genes (MRGs) and determine the correlation between MRGs and M2 macrophages in patients with hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP). We retrieved the gene expression matrix from the Gene Expression Omnibus database. ⋯ In addition, a positive correlation was observed between SULF1 expression and M2 macrophage proportion. Finally, we identified NPR3, GPX3, and SULF1 as diagnostic feature biomarkers for HP. Further, a correlation between SULF1 and M2 macrophages was observed, providing a novel perspective for treating patients with HP and future studies.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) constitutes the most prevalent histopathologic subtype of renal cell carcinoma. The interplay between aging and cancer is complicated, and we provide a relatively new set of senescence genes that has not yet been used in the study of clear cell renal cell carcinoma. Our objective is to investigate the involvement of senescence in the development and diagnosis of ccRCC. ⋯ The burden of aging tissues and cells may lead to immune dysregulation and drug resistance, which could contribute to poor prognosis in ccRCC patients. Risk models, decision trees, and nomogram for ccRCC survival prediction have great potential applications. In conclusion, our study establishes a clear association between aging in ccRCC and the immune microenvironment, demonstrating the predictive potential of senescence genes for ccRCC prognosis.
