Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Effectiveness of low-intensity atorvastatin 5 mg and ezetimibe 10 mg combination therapy compared with moderate-intensity atorvastatin 10 mg monotherapy: A randomized, double-blinded, multi-center, phase III study.
We compared the efficacy and safety of low-intensity atorvastatin and ezetimibe combination therapy with moderate-intensity atorvastatin monotherapy in patients requiring cholesterol-lowering therapy. ⋯ The addition of ezetimibe to low-intensity atorvastatin had a greater effect on lowering LDL cholesterol than moderate-intensity atorvastatin alone, offering an effective treatment option for cholesterol management, especially in patients with low and intermediate risks.

Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a pathophysiological condition caused by diabetes mellitus and is the leading cause of diabetes mellitus-related mortality. The pathophysiology of DCM involves various processes, such as oxidative stress, inflammation, ferroptosis, and abnormal protein modification. New evidence indicates that dysfunction of glutamine (Gln) metabolism contributes to the pathogenesis of DCM by regulating these pathophysiological mechanisms. ⋯ Although the precise molecular mechanisms of Gln in DCM have yet to be fully elucidated, recent studies have shown that supplementing with Gln improves cardiac function in diabetic hearts. However, excessive Gln may worsen myocardial injury in DCM by generating a large amount of glutamates or increasing O-GlcNacylation. To highlight the potential therapeutic method targeting Gln metabolism and its downstream pathophysiological mechanisms, this article aims to review the regulatory function of Gln in the pathophysiological mechanisms of DCM.

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome is a neurological condition characterized by headache, convulsions, altered consciousness, and visual disturbance with specific radiological features, which is characterized by contrast enhancement in the occipital lobe on T2-weighted image. We report a case of sudden visual impairment of both eyes 6 days after childbirth diagnosed as postpartum preeclampsia and posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) through radiological examination. ⋯ PRES in postpartum preeclampsia can cause rapid vision and symptoms, visual field loss, and accurate follow-up diagnosis with relevant imaging and clinical patterns can improve vision.

Meta Analysis
The therapeutic efficacy of guided therapy for PCI after acute myocardial infarction: A meta-analysis.
To systematically evaluate the effects of lead therapies on percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). ⋯ Based on the current study, combining conventional therapy/ exercise or using simple lead therapy after PCI can improve the treatment effect and improve the quality of life.

Meta Analysis
A meta-analysis of functional recovery of aphasia after stroke by acupuncture combined with language rehabilitation training.
The aim of this systematic review is to evaluate the effectiveness of combining acupuncture with speech rehabilitation training, compared to acupuncture alone or speech rehabilitation training alone, in the treatment of post-stroke aphasia. ⋯ The results of this meta-analysis indicate that acupuncture combined with language rehabilitation training can effectively improve the language function of post-stroke aphasia patients and increase clinical effectiveness. However, further research is needed to confirm these findings and provide a more reliable evidence-based basis for clinical practice. In particular, additional studies with large sample sizes, high quality, and more specific and standardized outcome measures are needed to strengthen the evidence. The limited quantity and quality of the current studies may affect the generalizability of the results.
