Ectopic pregnancy is a common gynecological emergency that poses a significant risk of maternal mortality during the first trimester. It also increases the incidence of infertility and repeated ectopic pregnancy. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether there is a difference in the degree of tubal patency between salpingostomy and systemic treatment with methotrexate (MTX), as well as the odds of intrauterine pregnancy and repeat ectopic pregnancy, and the degree of tubal patency in salpingectomy with or without tubal suturing. ⋯ This meta-analysis demonstrates that systemic treatment with MTX is an effective treatment for patients who wish to preserve their fallopian tubes without undergoing surgery. This form of treatment can help avoid surgical procedures that may damage the fallopian tubes and improve fertility prospects. If choosing surgery, we believe that opting for salpingostomy without tubal suturing could reduce the operation time and minimize damage.

Meta Analysis
Meta-analysis for the relationship between circulating pregnancy-associated plasma protein A and placenta accreta spectrum.
Changes in circulating pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A) have been observed in women with a placenta accreta spectrum (PAS). However, no consensus has been reached according to the previous studies. Our study investigated the relationship between circulating PAPP-A and PAS risk through a systematic review and meta-analysis. ⋯ Pregnant women with a high serum PAPP-A level in the first trimester may be at an increased risk for PAS.

The influence of biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs) on postoperative surgical site infection (SSI) and venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) has not yet been clarified. ⋯ RA patients treated with bDMARDs had an increased risk of not only postoperative SSI but also VTE. While bDMARD usage merits appropriate attention, there might be positive aspects as well. Further data will be needed to confirm the postoperative risks of bDMARD usage in RA patients.

Shoulder hand syndrome (SHS) is a common complication of stroke. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu decoction (HGWD) combined with rehabilitation training in managing it, as its efficacy remains inconclusive. ⋯ The results of this study indicate that HGWD combined with rehabilitation training may be more effective in treating SHS after stroke compared to standalone rehabilitation therapy.

Congenital heart defects (CHDs) are the most common cause of birth defect-related infant morbidity and mortality, affecting 1% of 40,000 births per year in the United States. On the other side, the etiology of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is multifactorial. Multiple studies have found that cardiac surgery patients have higher morbidity of having this disorder. Many studies have investigated the prevalence of ADHD in different subtypes of CHD, but few have focused on the severity of ADHD symptoms. Thus, we conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the severity of ADHD symptoms in CHD patients. ⋯ Our study revealed a strong association between CHD and not only ADHD, but also the severity of ADHD, making early diagnosis of ADHD in children with CHD a mandatory step in the clinical evaluation practice to improve these children on both clinical and psychological aspects.
