Cardiomyocyte apoptosis is an important factor in cardiac function decline observed in various cardiovascular diseases. To understand the progress in the field of cardiomyocyte apoptosis research, this paper uses bibliometrics to statistically analyze publications in this field. ⋯ NOD-like receptor thermal protein domain associated protein 3 inflammasome, circular RNA, and sepsis are the research frontiers in this field and are emerging as new areas of research focus. This work provides insight into research directions and the clinical application value for the continued advancement of cardiomyocyte apoptosis research.

Genomic profiling for non-small cell lung cancer: Clinical relevance in staging and prognosis.
Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers prevalent and around 80% of all cases are non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Due to high recurrence rates, the mortality of NSCLC is high. ⋯ Gene expression analysis has been shown to possess advantage over conventional staging systems in NSCLC in terms of patients risk classification. This article reviews the evidences on the genomic profiling of NSCLC patients into high and low-risk groups based on the expression of genes involved in various proliferative pathways.

Pediatric asthma is a complex disease with a multifactorial etiology. The identification of biomarkers associated with pediatric asthma can provide insights into the pathogenesis of the disease and aid in the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. This study aimed to identify potential biomarkers for pediatric asthma using Weighted Gene Co-expression Network Analysis (WGCNA) and machine learning algorithms. ⋯ Our study identified potential biomarkers for pediatric asthma using WGCNA and machine learning algorithms. Our findings suggest that 11 hub genes could be used as novel diagnostic markers and treatment targets for pediatric asthma. These findings provide new insights into the pathogenesis of pediatric asthma and may aid in the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common chronic respiratory illness. It arises from emphysema and chronic bronchitis and is characterized by progressive and irreversible airflow limitation and chronic inflammation of the lungs, which eventually progresses to pulmonary hypertension, chronic pulmonary heart disease and respiratory failure. ⋯ Dysregulation of autophagy is one of the pathogenic mechanisms of many diseases and is strongly associated with the development of COPD, although the precise mechanisms are unknown. In this paper, we focus on macroautophagy, a type of autophagy that has been thoroughly studied, and describe the characteristics, processes, regulatory pathways, and functions of autophagy, and discuss its relationship with COPD from the perspectives of inflammation, emphysema, mucus hypersecretion, cilia structure and function, airway remodeling, vascular remodeling, and bacterial infections, with a view to searching for the therapeutic targets of COPD from the perspective of autophagy, which is hoped to be helpful for the clinical treatment.

Endometriosis is a common disease of reproductive-age women and an important cause of dysmenorrhea and infertility. Information on endometriosis is complex and there is a lack of summarization of available results. ⋯ The Web of Science Core Collection was searched for articles published in the field of endometriosis. Our survey revealed the structure, hotspots, and development trends of endometriosis-related research and publications.
