Kimura's disease (KD) is a rare and chronic eosinophilic related-disease, characterized by subcutaneous tissue masses, regional enlarged lymph nodes, hypereosinophilia and elevated serum IgE. KD usually affects young adults in the Asian population. In Western countries, the clinical and biological presentation of KD is often unknown, delaying the diagnosis. Therapeutic management is not standardized and despite recent advances, remission from KD can be difficult to achieve, especially in relapse situations. ⋯ Finally, we propose a therapeutic plan to treat newly diagnosed KD and discuss options for relapsing entities.

Ischemic stroke (IS) is affected by a wide range of factors and has certain treatment limitations. Studies have reported that compound musk injection (CMI) is effective in the treatment of IS, however, its mechanism of action is still unclear. ⋯ CMI can treat IS by regulating pathways and targets related to inflammatory response and apoptosis in a multi-component manner.

The aims of this study were to determine the prevalence of frailty and its relationship with health outcomes in elderly outpatients attending a Diabetes Specialist Clinic. This study was a cross-sectional study. A total of 168 elderly patients (aged 65 years and above) attending the Diabetes Specialist Clinic of a Three-A hospital of Sichuan province were recruited from January 2021 to February 2021, and follow-up was conducted 1 year after day of screening. ⋯ Moreover, prefrail (OR = 3.37, 95% CI 2.31-5.72; P = .017) and frail (OR = 4.29, 95% CI 3.16-5.54; P = .006) patients were more likely to return to the clinic. There is a high incidence of frailty among elderly patients attending a Diabetes Specialist Clinic. Frailty is a predictor of hospitalization, fall, and clinic visits within 1 year.

Early maladaptive schemas (EMSs) may be closely related to nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI). The present study aimed to discuss the relationship between EMS and a personal history of NSSI. This was a retrospective study. ⋯ The disconnection/rejection schema domain was highly related with NSSI behaviors. EMS is significantly associated with the history, functions, addictive features, and severity of NSSI. Every EMS is worthy of further investigation and discussion with patients in the context of NSSI behaviors during clinical therapy.

To investigate the clinical characteristics, early blood biochemical indicators, and prognostic status of children with bronchopneumonia. We conducted a retrospective analysis of data from 500 children diagnosed with bronchopneumonia at our hospital from June 2019 to December 2022. Based on the severity of the disease, patients were assigned to the severe group (n = 180) or mild group (n = 320), and an additional 150 healthy children were chosen as the control group. ⋯ The severe group had a longer duration of fever, disappearance of symptoms, and cough relief time than the mild group (P < .05). Children with bronchopneumonia exhibit increased cardiac enzyme (CK, CK-MB, LDH, and α-HBDH) activity, and PCT and CRP expression levels increase with disease severity. Timely detection of relevant blood biochemical indicators and early implementation of prevention and treatment measures can improve the cure rate and reduce mortality in children with bronchopneumonia.
