Reports have suggested a relationship between coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination and new-onset or recurring renal diseases, of which immunoglobulin A (IgA) nephropathy is a representative disease. Alveolar hemorrhage in patients with IgA nephropathy is rare but reportedly has a high mortality and morbidity. To our knowledge, there have been no reports regarding the development of IgA nephropathy with alveolar hemorrhage following COVID-19 vaccination. ⋯ The present case suggested that although extremely rare, severe renal failure requiring renal replacement therapy could occur in patients with IgA nephropathy after COVID-19 vaccination. Future accumulation of similar cases is needed to predict the risk of renal injury following vaccination.

To explore the anti-tumor effects of Scutellaria baicalensis on osteosarcoma and its mechanism. Network pharmacology and molecular docking techniques were applied to investigate the effect and mechanism of Scutellaria baicalensis on osteosarcoma (OS). We analyzed the protein-protein interaction (PPI) network for potential targets of Scutellaria baicalensis for treating osteosarcoma and identified hub targets. ⋯ Molecular docking results indicated that Scutellaria baicalensis could bind freely to the above hub target, which could prolong the survival time of sarcoma patients. Scutellaria baicalensis acted on osteosarcoma by regulating a signaling network formed by hub targets connecting multiple signaling pathways. Scutellaria baicalensis appears to have the potential to serve as a therapeutic drug for osteosarcoma and to prolong the survival of OS patients.

This study aimed to investigate the angelica sinensis - radix rehmanniae (AR) role in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), employing network pharmacology and molecular docking techniques for active ingredient, targets, and pathway prediction. AR active components were obtained through TCMSP platform and literature search. The related targets of AR and PCOS were obtained through the disease and Swiss Target Prediction databases. ⋯ AR can improve hyperandrogen status, regulate glucose homeostasis, and correct lipid metabolism and other physiological processes through multi-component, multi-target, and multi-pathway. Thus, it could play a significant role in PCOS treatment. The results of our study provide a scientific foundation for basic research and clinical applications of AR for the treatment of PCOS.

This study aimed to analyze knee ligament of load and joint moment to simulate the strengthening of the hip abductor and hamstring muscles using musculoskeletal modeling, thereby contributing to decrease of knee ligament load. ⋯ The hamstring strengthening may contribute significantly to preventing ACL or MCL injury by reducing knee ligament load.

Anesthetic management for surgery in a nemaline myopathy patient with difficult airway: A CARE-compliant case report.
Nemaline myopathy (NM) is a congenital disease characterized by nonprogressive or slowly progressing muscle weakness and may increase the risk of anesthesia in case of respiratory muscle or cardiac involvement. Care should be taken to prevent respiratory failure after surgery. ⋯ This report highlights the safe performance of anesthesia induction and recovery in a case where anesthesia management is necessary for surgery in a patient of NM at a high risk of anesthesia-related complications.
