As an important member of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, the aberrant expression of β-catenin has been implicated in many cancers. Chibby, a β-catenin binding partner, is an antagonist involved in this pathway. In contrast, thyroid cancer 1 (TC1) as an activator of this pathway can relieve the antagonistic activity of Chibby on the β-catenin-mediated transcription and is high expressed in human tumors. ⋯ There was statistically significant about the expression of Cyclin D1 and MMP-7 among the groups of TC1+/Chibby-, TC1+/Chibby+, TC1-/Chibby-, and TC1-/Chibby + (P < .001), but was not significance about the expression of c-Myc among them (P = .339). No association was found between overall survival and the expression of TC1, Chibby, and β-catenin (P > .05). The upregulated expression of TC1 and downregulated expression of Chibby were correlated with the aberrant expression of β-catenin and the high expression of Cyclin D1 and MMP-7 in LSCC tissues.

To explore the anti-tumor effects of Scutellaria baicalensis on osteosarcoma and its mechanism. Network pharmacology and molecular docking techniques were applied to investigate the effect and mechanism of Scutellaria baicalensis on osteosarcoma (OS). We analyzed the protein-protein interaction (PPI) network for potential targets of Scutellaria baicalensis for treating osteosarcoma and identified hub targets. ⋯ Molecular docking results indicated that Scutellaria baicalensis could bind freely to the above hub target, which could prolong the survival time of sarcoma patients. Scutellaria baicalensis acted on osteosarcoma by regulating a signaling network formed by hub targets connecting multiple signaling pathways. Scutellaria baicalensis appears to have the potential to serve as a therapeutic drug for osteosarcoma and to prolong the survival of OS patients.

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a rare, low-grade sarcoma with locally infiltrative characteristics. A wide excision is made with a 5 cm gross margin. However, recently, Mohs micrographic surgery has emerged as an alternative. ⋯ Local flaps were the most common reconstruction method (n = 21, 72.4%). No cases of recurrence were observed at follow-up (average, 45.7 months). Saturn's rings technique for DFSP maximized the preservation of normal tissue with minimal resection, was advantageous for reconstruction, and yielded good results without recurrence.

The purpose of our study was to discover genes with significantly aberrant expression in diabetic nephropathy (DN) and to determine their potential mechanism. We acquired renal tubules, glomerulus and blood samples data from DN patients and controls from the GEO database. The differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in renal tubules, glomerulus and blood samples between DN patients and controls were studied. ⋯ In total, 21 shared genes were finally found, including CASP3, DHCR24, CXCL1, GYPC, INHBA, LTF, MT1G, MUC1, NINJ1, PFKFB3, PPP1R3C, CCL5, SRSF7, PHLDA2, RBM39, WTAP, BASP1, PLK2, PDK2, PNPLA4, and SNED1. These genes may be associated with the DN process. Our study provides a basis to explore the potential mechanism and identify novel therapeutic targets for DN.

We aimed to explore the predictive value of abnormal electrocardiogram (ECG) changes in non-small-cell lung carcinoma non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients for near-term mortality. Seventy-eight NSCLC patients hospitalized in Chaohu Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical University from October 2017 to August 2021 were selected as the observation group. Baseline medical history and type of ECG abnormalities were the same. ⋯ When the average ventricular rate of patients in the observation group was ≥100 beats/minute, ST-segment depression ≥0.05 mm, QRS voltage decrease ≥0.5 mm, new atrial fibrillation and other electrocardiogram changes, all patients died within 3 months. The control group with the same abnormal ECG had no death within 3 months (P < .05). In the resting 12-lead synchronous ECG in NSCLC patients, when the average ventricular rate ≥100 beats/minute, QRS wave voltage significantly decreased ≥0.5 mm, ST segment depression ≥0.05 mm, new atrial fibrillation appeared, it suggested that the patients' cardiac function decreased and the potential for near-term adverse outcomes is high.
