Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is prevalent in older men. As surgery can be high risk in this group, minimally invasive procedures are preferrable. This study aimed to assess the initial results of minimally invasive Rezūm water vapor thermal therapy (WVTT) in patients with BPH. ⋯ This study provides the first report on Rezūm WVTT outcomes in Japan using the CLSS assessment tool. The initial results indicate a promising experience with this new treatment method. With a rapidly aging population, the incidence of BPH is expected to increase, making the minimally invasive Rezūm system a valuable addition to BPH treatment options.

The goal of this study is exploring the disparity of incidence, mortality and survival outcome among transitional cell carcinomas (TCCs) in the 4 parts of urinary system. This study comprehensively evaluates these disparities using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) (2000-2018) database. According to the SEER database, the urinary tract is divided into 4 parts: urinary bladder, renal pelvis, ureter, and urethra. ⋯ In addition, patients with bladder TCC have the highest 1-year, 3-year, 5-year relative survival rate, and those with renal pelvis TCC have the lowest. These disparities are especially essential when we explore tumor characteristics and treatment, extrapolated from the literature on bladder TCC for upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC). Notably, patients with bladder TCC especially for localized stage have better survival outcomes than those with UTUC.

Confusion in the monitoring of coagulation function in pregnant and neonate patients with severe disease: A case reports and brief literature review.
Different populations have their own unique physiological and pathological characteristics. However, in specialized maternal and child hospitals, there is currently a lack of standardized methods for assessing coagulation dysfunction, both domestically and internationally. ⋯ For pregnant and neonatal critical illnesses, it is necessary to develop personalized coagulation monitoring programs that provide realistic and reasonable treatment recommendations. Such programs should consider the unique physiological and pathological characteristics of different populations to ensure effective management of critically ill patients.

Acute intermittent porphyria complicated with acute pancreatitis: A case report and literature review.
Acute intermittent porphyria (AIP) is a rare genetic disorder that affects porphyrin metabolism in the blood. The disease causes defects in specific enzymes in the body, which in turn leads to the accumulation of porphyrin metabolites. Patients may experience abdominal pain, neurological symptoms, muscle pain, and nausea, but it does not directly cause pancreatitis. ⋯ AIP complicated with acute pancreatitis is very rare. Treatment of AIPs aims to control acute attacks and prevent potential triggers.

Diagnostic value of circulating miRNA in the benign and malignant lung nodules: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Lung cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide, and its diagnosis remains a significant challenge. Identifying effective methods to differentiate benign from malignant lung nodules is of paramount importance. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the clinical utility of circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) for the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant lung nodules. ⋯ This meta-analysis demonstrated that circulating miRNAs hold substantial diagnostic value in distinguishing between benign and malignant lung nodules.
