The purpose of this study is to analyze the publicness of medical services in public and private medical institutions, with a focus on treatment performance using National Health Insurance data. Data from the National Health Insurance Service were used to compare the publicness of medical services in public and private medical institutions. Beta regression analysis was conducted after adjusting for the relevant characteristics to identify the impact on the public treatment performance of medical institutions. ⋯ According to the type of medical care institution, the public case rate was higher in general hospitals and tertiary hospitals than in hospitals. Recently, it has often highlighted that increasing emphasis of profitability in the evaluation of public health institutions is damaging the publicness of medical services. Even in this study, it can be evaluated that the public case rate of public health institutions is not higher than that of private medical institutions.

Schizophrenia affects more than 21 million people worldwide. There have been a number of articles published in the literature regarding schizophrenia. It is unclear which authors contributed the most to the field of schizophrenia. This study examines which article entities (affiliated countries, institutes, journals, and authors) earn the most research achievements (RAs) and whether keywords in articles are associated with the number of article citations. ⋯ Seven visualizations were presented to report the study results, particularly with thematic maps using scatter and 4-quadrant plots produced in R programming language. We recommend that more future bibliographical studies utilize CAJL scores and thematic maps to report their findings, not restrict themselves solely to schizophrenia in psychiatry as done in this study.

Traditional Chinese medicine suggests that Ginseng and Astragalus Decoction (GAD) may effectively treat postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMO). However, the exact mechanism of action for GAD remains unclear. This study aims to utilize network pharmacology and molecular docking technology to explore the potential mechanism of GAD in treating PMO. ⋯ Molecular docking results indicate that kaempferol and quercetin have a high affinity for IL6, AKT1, and IL1B. Our research predicts that IL6, AKT1, and IL1B are highly likely to be potential targets for treating PMO with GAD. PI3K/AKT pathway and AGE-ARGE pathway may play an important role in PMO.

Globally, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths, primarily non-small cell lung cancer. Kirsten Rat Sarcoma Oncogene Homolog (KRAS) mutations are common in non-small cell lung cancer and linked to a poor prognosis. Covalent inhibitors targeting KRAS-G12C mutation have improved treatment for some patients, but most KRAS-mutant lung adenocarcinoma (KRAS-MT LUAD) cases lack targeted therapies. ⋯ Contrasting associations in TCGA and GSE72094 datasets reveal the intricate nature of KRAS-MT LUAD. Additional explorations are imperative to grasp the precise involvement of LGR4 in lung adenocarcinoma prognosis, particularly concerning KRAS mutations. These insights could potentially pave the way for targeted therapeutic interventions, addressing the existing unmet demands in this specific subgroup.

To investigate the causal relationship between dried fruit intake and frozen shoulder using Mendelian randomization (MR). Genome wide association studies were conducted to pool data and select genetic loci independently associated with dried fruit intake and frozen shoulder in people of European ancestry as instrumental variables. Three MR analyses, inverse variance weighting, weighted median and MR-Egger, were used to investigate the causal relationship between dried fruit intake and frozen shoulder. ⋯ The inverse variance weighting results showed an OR (95 % CI) of 0.52 (0.34-0.80), P = .003, suggesting that there is a causal relationship between dried fruit intake and frozen shoulder. And no heterogeneity and multiplicity were found by the test and sensitivity analysis also showed robust results. The present study used a two-sample MR analysis, and by analyzing and exploring the genetic data, the study showed that too little intake of dry fruits is a risk factor for developing frozen shoulder.
