Chinese doctors are required to inform patients' direct relatives of a cancer diagnosis rather than the patients themselves. The disease may be hidden from patients by their family members, which could result in severe outcomes. We selected postoperative T3 esophageal cancer (EsC) patients hospitalized from June 2015 to December 2019 as research subjects. ⋯ The model showed a Brier score of 0.18. Indirect notification of a cancer diagnosis was an important negative predictor of postoperative EsC patients' PFS. The model displayed good accuracy and stability in the prediction of risk for cancer progression.

This study aims to investigate the causal effect of Alzheimer disease on thyroiditis using medical English and the Nature journal style. Genome-wide association data for Alzheimer disease and thyroiditis were obtained from the Mendelian Randomization (MR) platform. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) significantly associated with Alzheimer disease were identified and used as instrumental variables (IVs) to examine the causal relationship between Alzheimer disease and thyroiditis, employing a 2-sample MR study design. ⋯ Upon evaluation using different methods, a consistent association between Alzheimer disease and thyroiditis was observed inverse variance-weighted method [IVW]: odds ratio [OR] 1.32, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.01-1.72; weighted median estimator: OR 1.32, 95% CI 1.01-1.72; Mendelian randomization Egger regression: OR 1.29, 95% CI 0.92-1.81), indicating a positive correlation between Alzheimer disease and increased risk of thyroiditis. There was no evidence suggesting that the observed causal relationship between Alzheimer disease and thyroiditis risk could be influenced by pleiotropy (Mendelian randomization Egger intercept 0.0058, P = .88. Our MR analysis reveals causal association of Alzheimer disease and thyroiditis, despite observational studies reporting an association between Alzheimer disease and thyroiditis.

To investigate the causal relationship between attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and frozen shoulder using Mendelian randomization (MR). Data were pooled from large-scale genome wide association studies, and genetic loci that were independent of each other and associated with ADHD and frozen shoulder in people of European ancestry were selected as instrumental variables. Three MR analyses, inverse variance weighting, weighted median and MR-Egger, were used to investigate the causal relationship between ADHD and frozen shoulder. ⋯ The inverse variance weighting results showed an OR (95 % CI) of 1.12 (1.00-1.25), P = .046, indicating a causal relationship between ADHD and frozen shoulder. And no heterogeneity and multiplicity were found by the test and sensitivity analysis also showed robust results. The present study used a two-sample MR analysis, and by analyzing and exploring the genetic data, the study showed that ADHD is a risk factor for developing frozen shoulder, and patients with ADHD are more likely to suffer from frozen shoulder.

The efficacy of traditional Chinese exercise (TCE)-based interventions in the improvement of sleep quality is controversial. In this systematic review, we aimed to summarize randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that outline the effects of TCE on sleep quality. ⋯ TCE can improve sleep quality in specific populations in specific populations clinical applications. Tai chi should be considered first to improve sleep quality. However, further extensive trials and rigorous study designs should be conducted to strengthen the findings of this study. In addition, considering the large heterogeneity, the findings of our study should be interpreted cautiously.

Review Case Reports
Case report and literature review: Fabry disease misdiagnosing as polymyalgia rheumatica.
The clinical manifestations of Fabry disease affect the nerves, kidneys, heart, skin, gastrointestinal tract and eyes. Our aim is to familiarize people with the FD diagnostic process by reporting this case. ⋯ FD is a rare disease and difficult to diagnose, but rare does not mean invisible. FD may present with signs and symptoms of rheumatic diseases. Rheumatologists should be aware and concerned about this disease.
