Effect of summer acupoint application treatment (SAAT) on gut microbiota in healthy Asian adults: A randomized controlled trial.
Acupoint application has served as an important complementary and adjunctive therapy in China. The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of summer acupoint application treatment (SAAT) on the abundance and biological structure of gut microbiota in healthy Asian adults. Based on the CONSORT guidelines, 72 healthy adults were included in this study, randomly divided into 2 groups, receiving either traditional (acupoint application within known relevant meridians, Group A) or sham (treated with placebo prepared by mixing the equal amount of starch and water, Group B) SAAT. ⋯ At the genus level, the relative abundance of Faecalibacterium and Subdoligranulum species in the 2 groups were all significantly increased (P < .05). In addition, a significant reduction in the relative abundance of Blautia, Bacteroides, and Dorea in Group A (P < .05) and Eubacterium hallii group and Anaerostipes (P < .05) in Group B was observed after treatment. Our findings indicated SAAT substantially influenced the bacterial community structure in the gut microbiota of healthy Asian adults, which might serve as potential therapeutic targets for related diseases, and provided a foundation for future studies aimed at elucidating the microbial mechanisms underlying SAAT for the treatment of various conditions such as obesity, insulin resistance, irritable bowel syndrome.

Phase I cardiac rehabilitation with 5-phase music after emergency percutaneous coronary intervention for acute myocardial infarction: A prospective randomized study.
Five-phase music therapy was reported to be effective in the treatment and rehabilitation of several diseases. This study explored the effect of phase I cardiac rehabilitation combined with 5-phase music in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients after emergency percutaneous coronary intervention. ⋯ Phase I cardiac rehabilitation combined with 5-phase music could alleviate anxiety and depression and improve sleep quality.

Rheumatic diseases (RD) are chronic diseases that significantly affect the lives of patients. Assessing health outcomes through a patient-reported outcome measurement information system (PROMIS) is essential for RD management. Moreover, these tend to be less favorable among individuals than among the rest of the population. ⋯ Moreover, RD individuals reported lower physical functioning (β = -5.4; 95% CI = -6.50, -4.24) and social interaction (β = -4.5; 95% CI = -5.73, -3.20). Patients with RD in Saudi Arabia, particularly those with systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, have significantly greater impairment in physical functioning and social interaction and report higher levels of fatigue and pain. Addressing and ameliorating these negative outcomes is necessary to improve quality of life.

With WeChat platform as the carrier, we explored the effect of online and offline mixed teaching mode applied to Biochemistry teaching. One hundred and eighty-three students from the 4-year nursing major of Xinglin College of Nantong University in 2018 and 2019 were used as the observation group, using online and offline hybrid teaching methods, and 221 students majoring in 4-year nursing from Xinglin College of Nantong University in 2016 and 2017 were the control group, where the traditional classroom teaching method was adopted. The usual stage scores and final scores of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < .01). The micro-lecture videos, animations, and periodic assessment methods of the WeChat platform under "Internet+" can greatly stimulate students' interest in learning, thereby significantly improving academic performance and autonomous learning ability.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears are frequent ligamentous injuries that necessitate reconstruction in many cases. The patellar tendon and the hamstring tendon are the most frequently utilized autografts for reconstruction. However, both have certain disadvantages. ⋯ However, 6 cases of superficial wound infection were observed, 4 at the port site and 2 at the donor site. All resolved after appropriate oral antibiotic therapy. The peroneus longus tendon can be considered a safe, effective, and promising graft of choice for arthroscopic primary single-bundle ACL reconstruction because it has a good functional outcome and impressive donor ankle function after surgery.
