Meta Analysis
Astragalus membranaceus formula for moderate-high risk idiopathic membranous nephropathy: A meta-analysis.
Idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) is a noninflammatory autoimmune glomerulonephropathy. Based on the risk stratification for disease progression, conservative nonimmunosuppressive and immunosuppressive therapy strategies have been recommended. However, there remains challenges. Therefore, novel approaches to treat IMN are needed. We evaluated the efficacy of Astragalus membranaceus (A membranaceus) combined with supportive care or immunosuppressive therapy in the treatment of moderate-high risk IMN. ⋯ Adjunctive use of A membranaceus preparations combined with supportive care or immunosuppressive therapy have a promising treatment for improving complete response rate, partial response rate, serum albumin, and reducing proteinuria, serum creatinine levels compared to immunosuppressive therapy in people with MN being at moderate-high risk for disease progression. Given the inherent limitations of the included studies, future well-designed randomized controlled trials are required to confirm and update the findings of this analysis.

Urinary retention between nerve-sparing radical hysterectomy and radical hysterectomy for cervical cancer: A meta-analysis.
This study intended to assess the urinary retention between nerve-sparing radical hysterectomy and radical hysterectomy in cervical cancer. Relevant studies were selected from databases of PubMed, Embase, Wanfang, and China National Knowledge Internet with the last report up to January 15, 2022. Hazard ratio (HR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were chosen as the evaluation index. ⋯ Egger test revealed a significant publication bias (P = .014). Sensitivity analysis via omitting 1 study at each time showed that omission of any study made significant difference (P < .05), indicating reliability and good stability for the analysis. Additionally, there were significant heterogeneities in most subgroups.

Effect of summer acupoint application treatment (SAAT) on gut microbiota in healthy Asian adults: A randomized controlled trial.
Acupoint application has served as an important complementary and adjunctive therapy in China. The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of summer acupoint application treatment (SAAT) on the abundance and biological structure of gut microbiota in healthy Asian adults. Based on the CONSORT guidelines, 72 healthy adults were included in this study, randomly divided into 2 groups, receiving either traditional (acupoint application within known relevant meridians, Group A) or sham (treated with placebo prepared by mixing the equal amount of starch and water, Group B) SAAT. ⋯ At the genus level, the relative abundance of Faecalibacterium and Subdoligranulum species in the 2 groups were all significantly increased (P < .05). In addition, a significant reduction in the relative abundance of Blautia, Bacteroides, and Dorea in Group A (P < .05) and Eubacterium hallii group and Anaerostipes (P < .05) in Group B was observed after treatment. Our findings indicated SAAT substantially influenced the bacterial community structure in the gut microbiota of healthy Asian adults, which might serve as potential therapeutic targets for related diseases, and provided a foundation for future studies aimed at elucidating the microbial mechanisms underlying SAAT for the treatment of various conditions such as obesity, insulin resistance, irritable bowel syndrome.

With WeChat platform as the carrier, we explored the effect of online and offline mixed teaching mode applied to Biochemistry teaching. One hundred and eighty-three students from the 4-year nursing major of Xinglin College of Nantong University in 2018 and 2019 were used as the observation group, using online and offline hybrid teaching methods, and 221 students majoring in 4-year nursing from Xinglin College of Nantong University in 2016 and 2017 were the control group, where the traditional classroom teaching method was adopted. The usual stage scores and final scores of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < .01). The micro-lecture videos, animations, and periodic assessment methods of the WeChat platform under "Internet+" can greatly stimulate students' interest in learning, thereby significantly improving academic performance and autonomous learning ability.

Development and validation of prognostic nomogram for patients with metastatic gastric adenocarcinoma based on the SEER database.
The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic factors affecting overall survival in patients with metastatic gastric adenocarcinoma and to establish a nomogram prediction model for comprehensive clinical application. Data from 2370 patients with metastatic gastric adenocarcinoma between 2010 and 2017 were retrieved from the surveillance, epidemiology, and end results database. They were randomly divided into a training set (70%) and a validation set (30%), univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazards regressions were used to screen important variables that may affect overall survival and to establish the nomogram. ⋯ The prognostic nomogram showed good overall survival risk stratification ability for the area under the curve, calibration plots, and decision curve analysis in both the training and validation sets. Kaplan-Meier curves further showed that patients in the low-risk group had better overall survival. This study synthesizes the clinical, pathological, therapeutic characteristics of patients with metastatic gastric adenocarcinoma, establishes a clinically effective prognostic model, and that can help clinicians to better evaluate the patient's condition and provide accurate treatment.
