Recovery of severe COVID-19 complicated with cerebral infarction: Considerations on a case report.
The standardization, individualization, and rationalization of intensive care and treatment for severe patients have improved. However, the combination of corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and cerebral infarction presents new challenges beyond routine nursing care. ⋯ Critical care and rehabilitation specialist care play a positive role in ensuring patient safety and improving their quality of life by adapting measures to local conditions and the timing of care.

Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) of the accessory pancreatic duct (APD) are very rare and their clinical significance is not known. Here, we describe a case of IPMN originating in a branch of the duct of APD within the uncinate process of the pancreas, which initially presented with acute pancreatitis. ⋯ APD-IPMN in the pancreas uncinate process has its own characteristics of localized pancreatitis, and MD-preserving DPPHR-P not only protects the exocrine and endocrine functions of the pancreas, but it also protects the physiological and anatomical integrity. The appearance of POPF after DPPHR-P may be managed by endoscopic pancreatic duct stenting.

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a common lung cancer. Although there are various treatments for LUAD, its prognosis remains poor. Therefore, it is imperative to identify new targets and develop novel therapeutic strategies. ⋯ GO analyses showed that PRR11 participated in biological processes such as cell division and cell cycle, and was involved in protein binding and microtubule binding functions. KEGG analyses revealed that PRR11 was implicated in p53 signaling pathway. All the results indicated that PRR11 might be an independent prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for LUAD.

Since 2020, COVID-19 has affected the entire world. Various dietary supplements/herbal foods are recommended to protect against and/or treat COVID-19 through social media and conventional media platforms, although their effects are unproven. Hence, this study aimed to investigate dietary supplementation and/or herbal food consumption habits intended to protect against and/or treat COVID-19, as well as common thoughts and beliefs about these products during the COVID-19 pandemic. ⋯ Most believed that certain dietary supplements/herbal foods have an effect on the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. According to the COVID-19 infection status, participants differed in their opinions regarding the protective effects of vitamin D supplementation against COVID-19 (P = .02). It is important to raise public awareness of this issue and to avoid the unnecessary use of dietary supplements before sufficient evidence has been presented.

NETosis is a critical innate immune mechanism of neutrophils that contributes to the accelerated progression of autoimmune diseases, thrombosis, cancer, and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). This study qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed the relevant literature by bibliometric methods in order to provide a more comprehensive and objective view of the knowledge dynamics in the field. ⋯ Research on NETosis is currently booming. The mechanism of NETosis and its role in innate immunity, autoimmune diseases, especially systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, and thrombosis are the focus of research in the field of NETosis. A future study will concentrate on the function of NETosis in COVID-19 and recurrent metastasis of cancer.
