Review Case Reports
Volar wrist ganglion associated with radial artery atherosclerosis: A case report.
There have been no reports of volar wrist ganglions being associated with atherosclerosis of the radial artery. Good results were obtained with radial artery reconstruction through ganglion excision and autogenous vein grafting. Hence, we report a previously unreported case, along with a review of the literature. ⋯ In patients with risk factors for radial artery atherosclerosis, a more careful diagnosis is required for the surgical treatment of the volar wrist ganglion. In addition, if the ganglion and radial artery are not completely dissected, excision of the radial artery and subsequent reconstruction of the radial artery using an autogenous vein may be a good surgical strategy.

Motor impairment is common after a stroke and directly affects the function and quality of life of stroke survivors. Constraint-induced movement therapy and neuromuscular electrical stimulation are interventions that facilitate functional recovery of the upper extremities of a particular subgroup of stroke survivors. The objective of this study was to summarize the available evidence on the effects of neuromuscular electrical stimulation combined with constraint-induced movement therapy in patients with stroke. ⋯ PROSPERO CRD42023415645.

We aimed to investigate whether the unusual clinical presentation of pulmonary embolism (PE) varies by the type of provocation. In this retrospective cohort study, we examined the electronic health records (EHR) records of all patients diagnosed with PE (upon presentation or during hospitalization) presented to our tertiary hospital during 2014 to 2019. Inclusion criteria were the diagnosis of acute PE and age above 18 years. ⋯ I. [0.957-0.990]) and higher pulse oximetry saturation (RR = 1.114 95%CI [1.034-1.201]). The clinical presentation of PE varies with different types of provoking factors, with atypical presentation most common in nonmalignant provocation and asymptomatic presentation most prevalent in patients with underlying malignancy. Further studies are needed to determine the effect of said variance on long term clinical outcomes.

Diabetes is an important global health concern. According to the World Health Organization, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has 2.8 to 4.3 million diabetic patients between the ages of 27 to 60 in the year 2022. Medical nutrition therapy an essential component of diabetes management, helps improve diabetes outcomes by assisting patients in achieving a target glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) level of <7. ⋯ The pattern of consumption of fruits and vegetables in the study population conformed to the recommended levels, and that of fruits showed a statistically significant association with the control of HbA1c. Another food item that has a significant negative effect on HbA1c is pastries/pizza. Further studies that include more potentially confounding variables, such as treatment type, are needed.

Endometrial cancer (EC) is one of three common malignant tumors of the female reproductive tract, exceeded by cervical cancer. It has an incidence rate ranging from 3% to 10% with an increasing trend in recent years. ⋯ Our data suggested the clinical efficacy of hysteroscopic surgery combined with progesterone therapy in patients with early multiple endometrial cancer, providing the precious experience of the clinical presentation.
