Surgical treatment of subchondral osteonecrosis of the humeral head: A case report and literature review.
Osteonecrosis of the humeral head is an uncommon subchondral bone disease with many etiologies, and there is currently no definite evidence to support an optimal surgical treatment plan. We report a case of surgical treatment of left humeral head necrosis. To the best of our knowledge, this is the youngest patient with non-drug-induced humeral head necrosis and the largest collapsed area. ⋯ Non-drug-induced humeral head necrosis is rare. Autologous osteochondral transplantation is currently one of the most mature and effective treatment methods. The short-term curative effect in this patient is satisfactory, but the patient is young and has a large collapsed area, so long-term follow-up is worthwhile.

After 30 years of development, laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair (LIHR) has become the main method for treating adult inguinal hernia. LIHR is more standardized, the approach of single-port laparoscopic hernioplasty, the advantages of robotic inguinal hernioplasty, the application of new patches and the selection of surgical methods for different populations have become the focus and difficulty of current research. This article summarized the research progress of LIHR in recent years. Different keywords and phrases including inguinal hernia, LIHR, transabdominal laparoscopic preperitoneal hernia repair, and total extraperitoneal hernia repair were used to search the PubMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Web of Science databases for related original and review articles that serve the aim of this article well, which was to perform a nonsystematic review of the development, progress, and current status of LIHR.

Efficacy and safety of an extended-release sebacoyl dinalbuphine ester for laparoscopic cholecystectomy: A randomized controlled trial.
A long-acting κreceptor agonist parenteral analgesic may theoretically improve acute pain and reduce incidence of chronic postsurgical pain (CPSP) after laparoscopic cholecystectomy with minimal drug-related side effects of the traditional μreceptor opioids. ⋯ A single dose of extended-release analgesic SDE given intraoperatively did not provide sufficient add-on effect for acute and chronic pain management after laparoscopic cholecystectomies in patients who received standard postoperative MMA. Intramuscular injection of 150 mg SDE in patients with average body mass causes adverse events that could have been overlooked. More clinical studies are warranted to determine the target populations who may benefit from SDE injections for improvement of acute and chronic postsurgical pain management.

Anomaly originated flexor digitorum superficialis muscle of the small finger: A case report.
We present a clinical case of flexor digitorum superficialis (FDS) muscle belly of the small finger originating from the palm of a patient undergoing carpal tunnel surgery with a literature review. ⋯ Asymptomatic small finger FDS muscle anomalies can occur, as demonstrated in this case study. Thus, physicians should familiarize themselves with small finger FDS muscle anomalies during interactions with patients to facilitate future treatments of patient complaints related to the hand, as well as wrist laceration or trauma requiring hand exploration.

Alterations in factors associated with diabetic retinopathy combined with thrombosis: A review.
Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most common and serious microvascular complications of diabetes mellitus, the incidence of which has been increasing annually, and it is the main cause of vision loss in diabetic patients and a common cause of blindness. It is now found that thrombosis plays a crucial role in the disease progression in DR patients, and the final vision loss in DR may be related to the occurrence of thrombosis in the retinal vessels, which is dominated by abnormal endothelial cell function, together with platelet dysfunction, imbalance of coagulation and fibrinolytic function, and related alterations of inflammatory factors leading to the main cause of thrombotic disease in DR patients. In this review, we examine the role between DR and thrombosis and the association of each factor, including endothelial dysfunction; platelet dysfunction; coagulation-fibrinolytic imbalance; and alterations in inflammatory factors.
