Available literature has reported the association of Helicobacter pylori (H pylori) infection with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in adults. However, only a few studies have addressed the disease in children. ⋯ No correlation was found between H pylori infection and the occurrence of IBD in children.

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) poses a significant health risk to patients with morbid obesity or high body weight. Non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) are emerging treatments, but their effectiveness and safety compared with vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) in this population are yet to be thoroughly studied. ⋯ NOACs appear to be more effective and safer than VKAs in patients with morbid obesity or a high body weight with VTE. However, further large-scale randomized controlled trials are required to confirm these findings.

Peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM), which has been used to treat achalasia and other esophageal motility disorders for the past 10 years, has proven to be secure and efficient. Every year, more and more essays on this subject are published. We sought to investigate the global scientific outputs and hotspots of POEM produced by various nations, organizations, and authors. ⋯ Seven frontiers, including meta-analysis, high-resolution esophageal manometry, geriatric patient, third space endoscopy, adverse event, endoscopic submucosal dissection, and gastric peroral endoscopic myotomy, had an impact on future research on POEM. The previous 10 years have seen a considerable rise in POEM research, and this trend will continue. The most recent research frontiers, which require more attention, are meta-analysis, high-resolution esophageal manometry, geriatric patient, third space endoscopy, adverse event, and gastric peroral endoscopic myotomy.

Chronic heart failure (CHF) is a common and difficult-to-treat disease in clinical practice. The efficacy and safety of Zhenyuan capsule (ZYC) in the treatment of CHF were evaluated by meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis (TSA) of published relevant data. ⋯ ZYC can effectively improve the clinical efficacy of treating CHF, significantly increase left ventricular ejection fraction and 6-minute walk distance, and remarkably reduce brain natriuretic peptide. ZYC, with definite efficacy and safety, has the value of clinical application and in-depth research.

Helicobacter pylori (H pylori) is a common pathogen, and about 50% of the world population have been infected with it, so the infection of H pylori has been an urgent public health problem worldwide. H pylori has evolved a variety of strategies to help itself colonize, adapt to the environment and proliferate. ⋯ Therefore, CG may be a new target to weaken the infection effect of H pylori. The biosynthesis process, structure and biological function of CG specific to H pylori, as well as anti-CG drugs are discussed and analyzed in this review, in order to explore whether the inhibition of CG synthesis can be an effective strategy to eradicate H pylori.
