Observational Study
The relationship between fragility scores and intraoperative body temperature changes in geriatric patients: Prospective observational research.
Today, to evaluate morbidity and mortality in elderly surgical patients, fragility scores, which reflect the patient's current condition rather than increasing age, are used as a basis. Our research examines the association between fragility groups, body temperature changes, and inadvertent perioperative hypothermia (IPH) in major orthopedic surgery patients. Patients over the age of 65 who underwent major orthopedic surgery were evaluated. ⋯ No difference was detected between hypothermia frequencies in the fragility groups (P = .546) and the age groups (P = .065). Nearly half of major surgery patients developed IPH. We did not find a relationship between both fragility groups and age groups and the frequency of IPH.

Angiosarcoma is an aggressive neoplasm derived from endothelial cells that may develop anywhere within the body. Here, we report a case of primary gastric epithelioid angiosarcoma initially misdiagnosed as poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma from the preoperative biopsy. ⋯ Primary gastric epithelioid angiosarcoma is a rare gastric tumor. Given the epithelioid cell features displayed by tumor cells and the high expression of epithelial markers in tumor cells (83%), preoperative diagnosis is difficult and should be differentiated from adenocarcinoma or gastrointestinal stromal tumor.

Traumatic spinal epidural hematoma (SEH) is a rare clinical condition. Here, we present an extraordinary case of recurrent SEH accompanied by thoracolumbar spine fractures resulting from minor trauma, and provide evidence-based recommendations for the surgical management strategies in this unique scenario. ⋯ SEH is a rare clinical finding that can occur even after a minor trauma in the elderly. It is worth noting that osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures with asymptomatic or stable intraspinal hematoma, is not considered to be a contraindication for percutaneous vertebroplasty. And percutaneous vertebroplasty is a safe and effective treatment for osteoporotic compression fractures with asymptomatic SEH.

Case Reports
Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma with clear cell morphology - a close mimic of clear cell carcinoma: A case report.
In this case, the tumor cells were epithelioid, with translucent cytoplasm, well-defined cell borders, moderate size, rounded or ovoid nuclei, and small nucleoli visible. Based on this morphological feature, we first considered clear cell carcinoma, but the epithelial-related immunohistochemical results don't support the diagnosis. Ultimately, based on lymphoma-associated immunohistochemical results and gene rearrangement assays, the final diagnosis of a clear cell variant of DLBCL. Therefore, clinicians and pathologists are reminded that DLBCL with clear cell morphology is rare. ⋯ Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma with clear cell morphology is a rare tumor, and its diagnosis mainly relies on pathological findings, immunohistochemistry, gene rearrangement.

Successful placement of a chest wall venous infusion port via persistent left superior vena cava: A case report.
Persistent left superior vena cava (PLSVC) is a rare congenital venous anomaly occurring in approximately 0.3% to 0.5% of the population. The presence of PLSVC complicates central venous catheter placement, increasing procedural risks. This case report describes the successful placement of a chest wall venous infusion port in a patient with PLSVC, offering valuable insights for managing similar cases and ensuring safer clinical outcomes. ⋯ Detailed preoperative evaluations, intraoperative imaging guidance, and postoperative follow-ups are crucial for the safe and effective management of PLSVC patients undergoing central venous catheter placement.
