Glioblastoma (GBM) is a common primary malignant brain tumor and the prognosis of these patients remains poor. Therefore, further understanding of cell cycle-related molecular mechanisms of GBM and identification of appropriate prognostic markers and therapeutic targets are key research imperatives. Based on RNA-seq expression datasets from The Cancer Genome Atlas database, prognosis-related biological processes in GBM were screened out. ⋯ Our findings reinforce the relationship between cell cycle and GBM and may help improve the prognostic assessment of patients with GBM. Our predictive prognostic model, based on independent prognostic factors, enables tailored treatment strategies for GBM patients. It is particularly useful for subgroups with uncertain prognosis or treatment challenges.

Endometrial carcinoma (EC) is a prevalent gynecological malignancy that poses a significant threat to women's health worldwide. However, its pathogenesis and underlying mechanisms remains unclear. In this study, expression quantitative trait loci data, Mendelian randomization analysis, and differential expression analysis were performed to identify potential targets. ⋯ It was found to be significantly downregulated in EC samples, and its expression was positively correlated with the stage and grade of EC patients. In vitro experiments showed that overexpression of RNF144A significantly promoted cell growth and migration in EC cells. In conclusion, this study provides insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying EC progression and identifies preliminary candidate biomarkers for the development of EC treatment strategies.

Cough variant asthma (CVA) is a common disease with high incidence among children. Cough is the main clinical symptom and Chinese medicine (CM) has an exact effect on CVA. However, the rules of herb formulation, the pharmacodynamic substances, and the mechanism remained unclear. ⋯ Molecular dynamics simulation revealed that the formononetin-matrix metalloproteinase-9 complex was relatively stable. This article revealed that CM against CVA in children focused on dispelling wind and reducing phlegm, warming lung, and relieving cough. The mechanism of the core herb combination of CM for CVA through muti-components, muti-targets, and muti-pathways.

This study aimed to explore the causal relationship between trace elements and osteoarthritis (OA). The results showed a relatively weak association between copper and OA, while vitamin D showed a significant positive association with OA. Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was used to investigate the causal relationship between copper and vitamin D and OA. ⋯ Sensitivity analysis further confirmed the reliability of these causal relationships and excluded the interference of pleiotropy. These findings add to the understanding of the potential role of micronutrients in the prevention and treatment of OA and support the idea of vitamin D as a potential therapy for the prevention and treatment of OA. Future studies should further explore the specific biological mechanisms of these trace elements and the differences in their effects in different populations in order to develop more effective treatment strategies to reduce the health burden of degenerative joint diseases.

Our study aimed to evaluate and compare the changes in ulnar nerve tension and strain at different elbow positions radiologically and mechanically before and after applying the medial K-wire on the supracondylar humerus fracture cadaver model. We used ten fresh frozen cadaver upper extremity specimens to measure strain and tension on the ulnar nerve in 3 different elbow positions: elbow full extension, elbow flexion-forearm supination, and elbow flexion-forearm pronation. We employed Shear wave elastography (Siemens Acuson S3000 USG, 9L4 linear probe) and a microstrain gauge (Microstrain, Inc., Burlington) to obtain our measurements. ⋯ Our findings suggest that the long arm splint applied in elbow 90° flexion and forearm pronation position should not be preferred in the postoperative period. The maximum strain values obtained in the elbow full extension were lower, suggesting that it would be appropriate to stabilize the elbow in the extension position as much as possible postoperatively.
