Rapid diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) remains challenging, and reliable biomarkers are needed. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous small noncoding regulatory RNA molecules present in the serum, plasma, and saliva. miRNAs are considered to be sensitive biomarkers of tissue damage because of their high stability and relative tissue specificity. The aim of this systematic review was to assess the correlation between miRNAs and infarct volume in patients with AIS, to provide a basis for predicting ischemic stroke onset and improving prognosis in the clinic, among others. ⋯ This study shows that miRNA can be used as a biomarker for AIS, reflecting the severity of neurological deficits in this patient and providing a basis for clinical judgement of the patient's prognosis.

The relationship between dietary nutrient intake and bone mineral density (BMD) has not been clarified. In the U. S. population, we have demonstrated that dietary intake of multiple nutrients (potassium, magnesium, and sodium) is positively associated with BMD and negatively associated with the prevalence of osteopenia. ⋯ Our study showed that intake of dietary nutrients (potassium, magnesium, and sodium) was correlated positively to femur BMD and adversely to osteopenia and osteoporosis in the U. S. population. Further research is needed on the association of dietary elemental intake with BMD.

Study on temperature change and nursing intervention of patients undergoing thoracoscopic surgery in lung tumor treatment.
To investigate the changes of body temperature and nursing intervention of patients undergoing thoracoscopic surgery in lung tumor treatment. A total of 100 patients with lung cancer admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected as research objects, and were divided into control group and study group, with 50 cases in each group according to different treatment methods. All patients received thoracoscopic surgery, the control group received routine nursing, and the research group received perioperative nursing intervention on the basis of the above, and observed and compared the temperature changes, perioperative complications, postoperative rehabilitation, stress indexes and pain degree of the 2 groups of patients. ⋯ After operation, the levels of AD, NA, and Cor in both groups were higher than those before operation, and the levels of AD, NA, and Cor in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < .05). The visual analogue scale scores of the 2 groups at 12 hours and 48 hours after operation were lower than those of the control group at 6 hours, 12 hours, and 48 hours after operation, and the visual analogue scale scores of the study group at 6 hours, 12 hours, and 48 hours after operation were significantly lower than those of the control group (P < .05). Nursing intervention during thoracoscopic surgery for lung tumors can stabilize intraoperative and postoperative temperature changes, alleviate stress reaction and pain, reduce the risk of intraoperative hypothermia and hypoxemia, promote the smooth progress of surgery and improve prognosis.

Vitamins are essential nutrients that play an indispensable role in maintaining the vital functions of the human body. A growing number of studies have shown a link between vitamins and cancer. However, there is no systematic review and bibliometric analysis in this field. This study aims to summarize the hotspots and emerging research topics in this field of vitamins and cancer research. ⋯ This study presented an overview of the major research directions of vitamins and cancer by bibliometric methods over the past 2 decades. The results could reveal the research trends and the hotspots in the field and provide helpful information for clinical treatments of cancer.

Numerous studies have demonstrated a correlation between asthma and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The Chinese herbal compound Shaoyao Gancao Tang (SYGCT) has been found to have therapeutic effects on both asthma and IBS, but the underlying mechanisms are not yet fully understood. This study aims to explore the key components, key targets, and potential mechanisms of SYGCT in treating asthma with IBS by using network pharmacology, molecular docking techniques and molecular dynamics simulation. ⋯ SYGCT plays a therapeutic role in asthma and IBS through multiple targets and pathways, providing a theoretical basis for explaining the mechanism and clinical application of SYGCT in treating different diseases with the same treatment in asthma and IBS.
