Malaria has posed a momentous health and economic burden to the Sub-Saharan African region. The Sub-Saharan African region accounts for more than 90% of global malaria-related mortality and morbidity. Pregnant women and children under 5 years old are the most vulnerable. ⋯ Despite the aforementioned strategies, the pervasiveness of malaria infection in the Sub-Saharan African region is worrisome. Thus, strengthening the already existing control measures, finding novel measures through intensive research, and embracing malaria vaccination could help accelerate the overcoming of this scuffle. In this review, we utilized relevant published data from various databases to reexamine the factors fueling malaria pervasiveness in this region and spelled out point-by-point intervention protocols to end malaria scuffle.

Gliomas are tumors arising in the central nervous system, frequently associated with Class I mutations and BRAF fusions. These mutations are adverse prognostic factors in juvenile gliomas, leading to high rates of recurrence and poor response to current treatments. The blood-brain barrier and the heterogeneity of gliomas complicate the development of a single treatment strategy for all cases. ⋯ However, challenges remain in managing side effects such as fever, headache, lethargy, and rash. Further research into resistance mechanisms and long-term effects is necessary to optimize treatment strategies. Other therapies, such as everolimus and Selumetinib, also show potential and warrant further investigation.

Acute myeloid leukemia treatment outcomes with isocitrate dehydrogenase mutations: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) gene alterations and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) treatment results remain controversial. This study reviews the literature on IDH mutations in AML to determine the foundation of individualized therapy and improve effectiveness, survival time, and recurrence rate. ⋯ Different subtypes of IDH mutations may lead to different AML prognoses, suggesting the feasibility of personalized treatment for AML patients.

Efficacy of generic versus branded diacerein for treatment of knee osteoarthritis: A randomized control trial.
Several studies have proved that diacerein effectively treats knee osteoarthritis (OA). All studies used branded diacerein. Recently, generic diacerein has been available in several countries, with limited studies comparing the efficacy of generic and branded diacerein for knee OA treatment. ⋯ After a 24-week FU, the generic diacerein had similar efficacy as the branded diacerein in significantly improving VAS and PBMs: 5 × SST and 3MWT. However, the latter had a faster statistically improved VAS than the former.

Efficacy of Jiangzhi Mai'an Granules in the treatment of stable angina pectoris with phlegm and blood stasis obstruction and carotid artery plaque: A prospective randomized study.
Stable angina pectoris, resulting from coronary artery atherosclerosis, significantly affects quality of life and carries a high risk of cardiovascular events. Despite modern therapies, managing this condition remains challenging. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) views it as a syndrome of heart meridian obstruction by phlegm and blood stasis, necessitating improved circulation and phlegm resolution. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of Jiangzhi Mai'an Granules, a TCM formulation, in treating stable angina pectoris and carotid atherosclerosis, with the goal of integrating TCM with Western medicine to enhance clinical outcomes and patients' quality of life. ⋯ JZMA combined with standard treatment effectively reduced CIMT, plaque size, and serum lipid levels, thereby enhancing clinical outcomes in patients with stable angina and carotid atherosclerosis.
