Laparoscopic total mesorectal excision (LaTME) and transanal total mesorectal excision (TaTME) are popular mid and low rectal cancer trends. However, there is currently no systematic comparison between LaTME and TaTME of mid and low rectal cancer. Therefore, we systematically study the perioperative and pathological outcomes of LaTME and TaTME in mid and low rectal cancer. ⋯ This study comprehensively and systematically evaluated the differences in safety and effectiveness between LaTME and TaTME in the treatment of mid and low rectal cancer through meta-analysis. Patients who underwent LaTME had less anastomotic leak rate but TaTME had less end colostomy. There is no difference in other aspects. Of course, in the future, more scientific and rigorous conclusions need to be drawn from multi-center RCT research.

Review Case Reports
Delayed low-dose methotrexate excretion in a rheumatoid arthritis patient: A case report and literature review.
Low-dose methotrexate has a relatively good safety profile. However, in cases where patients with multiple risk factors, a delayed excretion has been observed, resulting in the occurrence of severe adverse reactions. It is necessary to supervise and intervene throughout the entire process of treating patients with multiple risk factors for methotrexate, and to strengthen the rational application of methotrexate. ⋯ To ensure rational administration of methotrexate, it is important to fully evaluate the clinical manifestations and physical condition of patients and regularly detecting the serum drug concentration of methotrexate when patients with multiple risk factors, Otherwise, even low-dose methotrexate administration may cause delayed excretion, resulting in severe adverse reactions.

Review Case Reports
Mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the pancreas: A case report and literature review.
Primary mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is a common malignant neoplasm of the salivary glands, but is very rare in the pancreas. To date, only 10 cases have been reported in the literature. Because MEC of the pancreas is very rare, there is little information about its diagnosis, treatment, and metastasis. Herein, we present the eleventh case and review the relevant literature. ⋯ We presented a case of mucoepidermoid pancreatic cancer in a 65-year-old woman. Pathological examination revealed that the tumor parenchyma consisted of 3 cell types. There are mainly epidermoid cells, intermediate cells between the basal and epidermoid cells, and mucus-producing cells in varying proportions. Immunohistochemical staining showed that there were different types of cells with unique morphological characteristics. In summary, primary MECs of the pancreas are rare and have poor prognosis. Few studies have been conducted on the diagnosis, treatment, and metastasis of MECs; therefore, further studies are needed to detect them.

Yi Dian Hong, belonging to the Asteraceae family, finds widespread use in traditional Chinese medicine for its effectiveness in clearing heat, detoxifying, promoting blood circulation, reducing swelling, and cooling the blood. Modern medical research has revealed that Yi Dian Hong and its proprietary Chinese medicines possess biological functions such as inhibiting tumor-specific angiogenesis and regulating immune-related molecules. ⋯ Unfortunately, China currently lacks relevant content standards, thereby introducing greater clinical application risks. To ensure the safety of clinical use of Yi Dian Hong, this review will analyze the risk associated with Yi Dian Hong and its proprietary Chinese medicines in clinical applications based on the PAs content in these medicines and provide recommendations.

Defining certain parameters of the oocyte microenvironment that can be simply and quickly detected and that enable differentiation of oocytes that have better or worse quality could potentially increase the efficacy of the in vitro fertilization (IVF) method. Follicular fluid represents the microenvironment for the development of oocytes during different stages of maturation. Enzymes present in the follicular fluid may affect the quality of oocytes. ⋯ The software package SPSS 20 was used for the statistical processing of data. The results of follicular fluid sample analysis showed a correlation between ALT concentration in the follicular fluid and IVF outcome. Based on our results, we can conclude that ALT concentration affects the outcome of IVF.
