Randomized Controlled Trial
Impact of stress coping strategy in modifying perceptions of school stress among adult learners enrolled in Home Economics and Indigenous Textiles Education in Nigerian Universities.
Studying some professions is so demanding that if not well managed it leads to severe stress, withdrawal, burnout, and other health-related problems. Hence, practical engagement and exhibition of catering, cooking, and home management are so tasking as they are time-consuming and very intensive. Many students in the specialties experience excess academic loads and internal and external demands. Given these, this study tested the impact of cognitive behavior coping strategy on school stress among adult learners enrolled in Home Economic and Indigenous Textile Education. ⋯ This study suggests that cognitive behavior coping strategy has a long-term impact on modifying the students' perception of school stress in a sample of adult learners enrolled in Home Economic and Indigenous Textile Education.

Randomized Controlled Trial Observational Study
Efficacy and safety of nalbuphine for epidural labor analgesia at high altitude: An observational study.
Xining is located at the eastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with an average altitude of >7000 feet (>2000 m). Nalbuphine is a kappa-opioid receptor agonist that can provide analgesia with fewer side effects than other opioid analgesics. This study aimed to evaluate pain control, side effects, and neonatal outcomes from combining nalbuphine with sufentanil and ropivacaine in 600 women during epidural anesthesia while giving birth at a high altitude in Xining, China. ⋯ However, between the 2 groups, there were no statistically significant differences in the remaining maternal and infant outcomes and neonatal outcomes (P > .05). Moreover, no adverse effects on neonatal outcomes were observed. The findings from this study support findings from previous studies that nalbuphine provided safe epidural analgesia without significant side effects for the mother and infant, and showed both safety and efficacy when used during labor at high altitude.

In the elderly population, Parkinson's Disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder and is associated with morphological changes in the basal ganglia, especially the substantia nigra (SN). This study aimed to evaluate the volume and signal intensity (SI) of SN using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to detect structural changes and investigate the relationship between the onset side and disease severity of PD. Clinical features and imaging data of 58 patients with PD were retrospectively analyzed from their medical records. ⋯ Furthermore, SN volume and SI measurements were not significantly correlated with disease duration and MDS-UPDRS III motor score (P > .05). SN volume and SI values measured using axial FLAIR 3T MRI are not correlated with the side of onset or disease severity in PD. New imaging methods are required to detect preclinical or early-stage PD.

Poor functional outcome is associated with perihematomal edema (PHE) expansion after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). The inflammatory response is crucial for the onset and progression of PHE. This study aimed to determine the connection between admission neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and early PHE development. ⋯ Spearman's correlation test showed a positive correlation between admission NLR and absolute PHE (r = .548, P < .001). Multiple linear regression analyses suggested that for every 1-unit increase in admission NLR (B = .176, SE = .043, Beta = .275, P < .001), there was a 0.176 mL increase in absolute PHE. Admission neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) significantly and positively predicted early perihematomal edema (PHE) expansion.

The objective of this study was to investigate the potential targets and mechanism of Rheum palmatum L in the treatment of colorectal cancer based on the network pharmacology and molecular docking, which could provide the theoretical basis for clinical applications. The potential components were screened using TCMSP database and articles. The gene targets of colorectal cancer were screened through the Genecards database and Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man database. ⋯ The treatment process was found to involve nitrogen metabolism, p53 signaling pathway, and various cancer related pathway, as well as the AGE-RAGE signaling pathway, estrogen signaling pathway, interleukin-17 signaling pathway and thyroid hormone signaling pathway. The molecular docking was verified the combination between key components and their respective target proteins. Network pharmacological analysis demonstrated that R palmatum was could regulated p53, AGE-RAGE, interleukin-17 and related signaling pathway in colorectal cancer, which might provide a scientific basis of mechanism.
