Randomized Controlled Trial
Effects of Taekkyon-based exercise program on balance, lower extremity strength, and gait parameters in community-dwelling older women: Randomized controlled trial.
As individuals age, they experience a decline in muscle strength and balance, leading to diminished functional capacity and an increased risk of falls. The purpose of the current study was to investigate the effects of the Taekkyon-based exercise program on balance, muscle strength, and gait ability in women aged over 65-year-old residing in the local community. ⋯ Taekkyon-based exercise program was more effective in improving balance, lower extremity strength, and gait capacity than the usual fall prevention program in elderly women over 65 years of age. Its effects can approach normal values for women in this age group. The 12-week Taekkyon-based exercise program could be useful as part of a fall prevention program to elderly people.

A randomized controlled study investigating the efficacy of electro-acupuncture and exercise-based swallowing rehabilitation for post-stroke dysphagia: Impacts on brainstem auditory evoked potentials and cerebral blood flow.
Swallowing rehabilitation behavioral therapy and traditional Chinese acupuncture therapy are widely used in the treatment of post-stroke dysphagia (PSD). This study investigated the therapeutic effect of electro-acupuncture combined with exercise-based swallowing rehabilitation on PSD and its effect on brainstem auditory evoked potential (BAEP) and cerebral blood flow. ⋯ Electro-acupuncture, combined with swallowing training in the treatment of Post-stroke Dysphagia, effectively improved cerebral microcirculation and conduction velocity, enhanced the motor function of swallowing muscles, and promoted the recovery of swallowing function.

Effectiveness of integrated nursing interventions in enhancing patient outcomes during postoperative intravesical instillation for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer: A comparative study.
This study aimed to investigate nursing strategies for patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) undergoing postoperative intravesical instillation. We recruited 100 NMIBC patients from January 2017 to January 2022. Participants were randomly assigned to either the research group or the control group (n = 50 each) using random number tables. ⋯ Furthermore, the research group experienced fewer postoperative complications (P < .05). Nursing interventions significantly enhance the outcomes of NMIBC patients undergoing intravesical instillation treatment. These interventions effectively improve treatment compliance, alleviate negative emotions, modify coping strategies, reduce the incidence of complications, and enhance overall nursing satisfaction.

Bone ring (BR) grafts have been introduced to reconstruct alveolar ridge defects with simultaneous implant placement, but its clinical effectiveness remains undetermined. This systematic review aimed to comprehensively investigate BR grafts in diverse scenarios of ridge defect with simultaneous or staged implant placement. ⋯ BR grafting with simultaneous or staged implant insertion is an effective approach for reconstructing alveolar ridge deficiencies. The BR grafts demonstrate favorable bone remodeling and osteointegration with the alveolar bone and implant; however, its success may be compromised by complications. Future studies should further investigate the clinical efficacy of BR grafting comparing to other bone augmentation techniques in diverse scenarios.

Medical therapy has become an increasingly important intervention owing to improvements in the multidisciplinary care for pituitary adenomas (PAs). This study aimed to assess the reporting quality of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on PAs pharmacotherapy. ⋯ The overall reporting quality of RCTs on pharmacotherapy in PAs was poor, based on the 2010 CONSORT statement. However, we noticed an improvement in the OQS over the years and identified the factors associated with a better report. Increased effort is necessary to raise awareness of these issues among writers, readers, reviewers, and editors.
