Observational Study
Impact of open bursectomy and biceps tendon release with closed manipulation in frozen shoulder.
This retrospective observational study evaluated the efficacy of 2 different surgical approaches for the treatment of frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis). This study aimed to compare the efficacy, safety, and recovery times of the 2 treatment modalities. Fifty patients diagnosed with frozen shoulder and treated at Seyhan State Hospital were included in the study. ⋯ Data analysis revealed that the combination of closed manipulation with open bursectomy and biceps tendon capsule release was more effective in reducing pain, increasing ROM, and improving quality of life than closed manipulation alone. The discussion would typically elaborate on how the results compare with existing literature, the clinical implications, and any potential limitations of the study. The results showed that the method that combined closed manipulation with open bursectomy and biceps tendon capsule release was better than closed manipulation alone in terms of reducing pain, increasing ROM, and improving quality of life.

Case Reports
Gynura segetum induces hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome in a child: A case report.
Hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (HSOS), which includes hepatic stasis and portal hypertension, is a rare vascular disorder of the liver. It is often associated with hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. It is also possible to treat this disease using Chinese herbal medicines that contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs). This disease is extremely rare in children and poses a serious threat to their health. To our knowledge, this is the first case of HSOS in a child with PAs. ⋯ This case report emphasizes the prevention of Chinese herb-induced liver injury in children and the importance of active long-term sequential anticoagulant therapy to reduce the progressive damage of PA-HSOS in the liver.

This study aimed to conduct a visual analysis of the relevant literature on mitochondrial dynamics in heart failure, explore the research progress, frontier topics, and development trends in this field, and provide references for the study concerning mitochondrial dynamics in the prevention and treatment of heart failure. The Web of Science was searched from inception to October 1, 2023 to identify relevant English literature on mitochondrial dynamics in heart failure. Bibliometric methods were utilized to statistically analyze the eligible literature, and CiteSpace 6.2. ⋯ As revealed by keyword and citation analyses, the research hotspots and frontiers in this field mainly included the pathogenesis of heart failure, mitochondrial dynamics markers, mitochondrial quality control, and potential therapeutic targets for heart failure. Research on mitochondrial dynamics in heart failure is under vigorous development. It is a development trend in this research field to explore the differential gene expression and molecular mechanisms of targeted treatment in the mitochondrial dynamics in heart failure, which will contribute to the formulation of new strategies for the prevention and treatment of heart failure.

Currently, there are limited studies assessing ChatGPT ability to provide appropriate responses to medical questions. Our study aims to evaluate ChatGPT adequacy in responding to questions regarding osteoporotic fracture prevention and medical science. We created a list of 25 questions based on the guidelines and our clinical experience. ⋯ On the other hand, the patients perceived that the appropriateness of ChatGPT responses to osteoporotic fracture prevention questions was slightly higher than that to medical science questions (88% vs 72·7%, P = .34). ChatGPT is capable of providing comparable and appropriate responses to medical science questions, as well as to fracture prevention related issues. Both the inquirers seeking advice and the consultants providing advice recognize ChatGPT expertise in these areas.
