The CT-guided percutaneous drainage of pancreatic pseudocyst accompanied by pseudoaneurysm: A case report.
This case report discusses the CT-guided percutaneous drainage of a pancreatic pseudocyst accompanied by a pseudoaneurysm. Pancreatic pseudocysts can erode the peripancreatic artery and produce pseudoaneurysms. This is rare, but it can be life-threatening. ⋯ Early detection and accurate assessment of pseudoaneurysms are essential for appropriate management. This case shows that contrast-enhanced CT is necessary before CT-guided percutaneous drainage of pancreatic pseudocysts. It also shows that, due to the many complications that pancreatic pseudocysts may cause, appropriate treatment of pseudocysts complicated with pseudoaneurysm has important clinical significance.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between benign thyroid disease and breast cancer. The clinical study includes a total of 600 participants, divided into 2 groups: the control group (N = 300), which consists of individuals from the checkup population during the same periods, and the experimental group (N = 300), which consists of patients with breast cancer. General data of the participants, including age, tumor diameter, tumor staging, pathological classification, lymph node metastasis, and classification of benign thyroid disease, were collected and analyzed. ⋯ The levels of TPOAb, TgAb, and TSH in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group, while the levels of TT3, TT4, FT3, and FT4 in the experimental group were significantly lower. The general data of the participants contributed to the appropriate sample size and allocation. Furthermore, benign thyroid disease contributes to the development of breast cancer by regulating the levels of TT3, TT4, FT3, FT4, TSH, TPOAb, and TgAb.

Stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) is a one of most common malignancies with high mortality-to-incidence ratio. Programmed cell death (PCD) exerts vital functions in the progression of cancer. The role of PCD-related genes (PRGs) in STAD are not fully clarified. ⋯ Patient with high PRS score had a higher TIDE score, higher immune escape score, lower PD1&CTLA4 immunophenoscore, lower TMB score, lower response rate and poor prognosis, indicating a less immunotherapy response. The IC50 value of some drugs correlated with chemotherapy and targeted therapy was higher in high PRS score group. Our investigation developed an optimal PRS in STAD and it acted as an indicator for predicting the prognosis, stratifying risk and guiding treatment for STAD patients.

Maternally inherited diabetes and deafness (MIDD) is a rare genetic disorder arising from mitochondrial DNA mutations, characterized by a combination of diabetes mellitus and sensorineural deafness. It is known that MIDD patients with cardiomyopathy have a poor prognosis, but there are no established guidelines for the diagnosis and follow-up of cardiomyopathy in MIDD patients. ⋯ The findings of this report contribute to the understanding of the clinical course of MIDD-associated cardiomyopathy and highlight the potential of GLS as a sensitive marker for disease progression.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common reproductive endocrine disorder among women of childbearing age and is the primary cause of anovulatory infertility, accounting for 70% to 80% of cases. Ovulation induction is the main treatment approach for infertile patients with PCOS. Commonly utilized medications for this purpose are clomiphene citrate (CC) and letrozole (LE). Clomiphene citrate administration results in an ovulation rate ranging from 60% to 85%, while the pregnancy rate is limited to 35% to 40%, and a further reduction is observed in live birth rates. Letrozole demonstrates a slightly higher pregnancy rate and live birth rate compared to clomiphene citrate, although challenges persist in terms of longer stimulation cycles, multiple pregnancies, and the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). Clinical reports indicate that acupuncture therapy shows promising efficacy in treating patients with PCOS-related infertility, despite a partially unclear understanding of its underlying mechanisms. ⋯ These findings suggest that cheek acupuncture therapy can effectively stimulate follicle development and ovulation, potentially improving endometrial receptivity. According to holographic theory, there is a biologically holographic model within the cheek region that shares a homology with the human body structure. This model provides an explanation for the regulatory effects of cheek acupuncture point stimulation on the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Ovarian axis (HPO), which subsequently influences follicle development and ovulation in patients. Consequently, when cheek acupuncture therapy is applied alone or in combination with ovulation induction medication, patients have the ability to achieve successful pregnancy and experience a smooth delivery.
