This study aimed to investigate the prognostic relationship between relative dose intensity (RDI) of adjuvant S-1 chemotherapy and psoas muscle mass volume (PMV) in patients with resected pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. We enrolled 105 patients with histologically confirmed pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma who had undergone pancreatectomy. Adjuvant S-1 chemotherapy was administered to 72 (68.6%) of the 105 patients and not to the remaining 33 patients. ⋯ The area under the curve for the combination of RDI and PMV (0.674) was greater than that for RDI alone (0.645). A sufficient dosage of adjuvant S-1 chemotherapy is important in improving survival of patients with resected pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. A combination of RDI and PMV may predict the prognosis of patients with resected pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma more effective than RDI alone.

Analysis of correlative factors of female coronary slow-flow phenomenon: A retrospective study.
The coronary slow-flow phenomenon (CSFP) is a manifestation of coronary artery disease wherein coronary angiography reveals no apparent stenosis; however, there is a delay in blood flow perfusion. Given its increased occurrence in male patients, with the majority of subjects in previous studies being male, this study aimed to explore whether distinct risk factors are present in female patients with CSFP. This single-center retrospective study focused on female patients diagnosed with CSFP by using coronary angiography. ⋯ Additionally, the area under the ROC curve (AUC) of the combined effect of smoking, ApoE, FT4, and FFA on CSFP was 0.793 (95% CI: 0.729-0.857, P < .01). In addition to the established risk factors for smoking, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia, female patients with CSFP exhibited significant differences in apoE, FFA, FT4, and TT4 levels compared to the control group. Smoking, FFA, and FT4 levels emerged as independent risk factors for CSFP.

Nursing observations of stage-based care in patients diagnosed with hepatitis B virus infection based on TBIL and ALT levels.
This study explored techniques and effects of stage-based care on patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. The clinical data of 156 patients with chronic HBV infection treated in our hospital from September 2018 to December 2019 were retrospectively analyzed and classified as the experimental group (EG). Patients were categorized into early, intermediate, and late hepatitis stages and received targeted clinical care during the various phases of chronic HBV infection. ⋯ Furthermore, the observed psychological status of patients in the EG group significantly improved when compared with that in the COG group (P < .05). Stage-based care for patients with severe chronic type B hepatitis increased clinical satisfaction, relieved pain, reduced depression, and improved blood biochemical indices. Therefore, stage-based care for chronic HBV infection should be included in the clinical environment.

To analyze the correlation between Balthazar CT grading and contrast-enhanced CT necrosis volume and attenuation value and prognosis of patients with acute necrotizing pancreatitis. Ninety-two patients with acute necrotizing pancreatitis who were treated in the hospital were selected between June 2019 and June 2021, and they were divided into the poor prognosis group and the good prognosis group according to the clinical prognosis at 6 months of follow-up. Balthazar CT, contrast-enhanced CT necrosis volume, and attenuation value were compared between the 2 groups. ⋯ The results of the multivariate logistic analysis showed that Balthazar CT grade, necrotic volume, and average attenuation value were independent risk factors for poor prognosis in patients with acute necrotizing pancreatitis (all P values <.05). The area under the curve of Balthazar CT grade, necrotic volume, average attenuation value, and the joint detection in predicting the prognosis of patients with acute necrotizing pancreatitis were 0.765, 0.624, 0.764, and 0.861, respectively. The Balthazar CT grading, necrosis volume, and average attenuation value are significantly higher among patients with acute necrotizing pancreatitis complicated with poor prognosis, and they are also independent risk factors for poor prognosis in patients with acute necrotizing pancreatitis, and can help clinically predict the prognosis of patients with acute necrotizing pancreatitis, and the combined detection has better application effects.

Characterizing colon lipomas: Insights from a retrospective analysis of clinical presentation and management strategies.
This retrospective study aims to examine the characteristics and treatment approaches of colon lipomas, which are benign tumors found in the colon. We analyzed a cohort of 25 patients, focusing on demographic characteristics, clinical presentation, location and size of the lipoma, concomitant pathologies, and treatment methods. The average age of the patients was 67.3 years, with 36% being male and 64% female. ⋯ Statistically significant differences were observed between symptomatic and asymptomatic patients regarding various parameters, including the size of the lipoma (P = .033). Colon lipomas are generally benign and frequently asymptomatic but may necessitate different treatment approaches depending on their size, location, and the presence of symptoms. Further studies are imperative to refine treatment strategies and enhance patient care outcomes.
