This study aims to develop and validate a machine learning (ML) predictive model for assessing mortality in patients with malignant tumors and hyperkalemia (MTH). We extracted data on patients with MTH from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-IV, version 2.2 (MIMIC-IV v2.2) database. The dataset was split into a training set (75%) and a validation set (25%). ⋯ This study demonstrates the effectiveness of ML methods in predicting mortality risk in ICU patients with MTH. It highlights the importance of predictors like urine output and mean heart rate. SHAP and LIME significantly enhanced the model's interpretability.

Efficacy and safety of mycophenolate mofetil versus cyclophosphamide therapy for Henoch schonlein purpura nephritis in children: A meta-analysis.
The objective of this meta-analysis was to compare the efficacy and safety between glucocorticoids combined with mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) versus glucocorticoids combined with cyclophosphamide (CTX) for henoch schonlein purpura nephritis (HSPN) in children. ⋯ Glucocorticoids combined with MMF had a higher CR and lower incidence of adverse effects compared with glucocorticoids combined with CTX in the treatment of HSPN in children.

Efficacy, safety and immunogenicity of the biosimilar etanercept compared to the reference formulation original etanercept in patients with rheumatoid arthritis: An open-label, randomized, comparative, multicenter study.
The objective of this phase III clinical randomized trial was to establish the therapeutic equivalence of biosimilar etanercept (bio-etanercept) with original etanercept (O-etanercept) for patients diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. ⋯ This study showed that bio-etanercept was equivalent to the reference formulation.

Patients' compliance and receptivity to nonimmersive virtual reality (NIVR) can enhance their long-term exercise therapy compliance for neurological illnesses. Patients with Parkinson disease (PD) have age-standardized rates of disability, death, and prevalence that are rising the fastest; several researches have revealed that there is no known cure for PD at this time. Thus, the current study investigates how NIVR affects patients with PD using Wii-Fit exercises. Therefore, the present study investigates the effects of NIVR using Wii-Fit exercises among patients with PD. ⋯ The review suggests that NIVR is effective for balance rehabilitation but ineffective for cognitive improvement in patients with PD aged >18 to 85 years.

Comparison of the postoperative effects of the erector spinae plane block and local infiltration analgesia in patients operated with lumbotomy surgery incision: Randomized clinical study.
Our aim was to observe the effects of local infiltration analgesia (LIA) or erector spinae plane block (ESPB) methods, which we applied preemptively in patients who were scheduled for surgery with a lumbotomy surgical incision and on intraoperative remifentanil consumption, and to compare the postoperative numerical rating scale (NRS), morphine demand, consumption, and pain degrees. ⋯ In conclusion, it has been shown that the intraoperative LIA method is more effective in terms of remifentanil consumption and in controlling pain in operations performed with a flank incision, but the ESPB method provides longer and more effective pain control in postoperative follow-ups.
