Observational Study
A study on the correlation of Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of cervical lymph nodes in patients with laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers: An observational study.
The objective was to assess the diagnostic efficacy of Doppler ultrasound in detecting cervical lymph nodes in patients diagnosed with laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers. Patients undergoing surgery for laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers in the Otolaryngology Department from January 2021 to January 2023 were included. Two groups, with equal numbers, underwent ultrasound examination and intensive CT examination in the experimental and control groups, respectively, along with routine cervical lymph node dissection. ⋯ The specificity between enhanced CT and ultrasonography (P = .021) and between palpation and enhanced CT scan (P = .003) both showed statistical significance (P < .05). Doppler ultrasound yields diagnostic results highly consistent with pathological diagnoses in patients with laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers. Utilizing Doppler ultrasound can enhance the accuracy of diagnosing these cancers, aiding physicians in devising more suitable treatment plans for patients.

Scleral bridging technique for preventing PreserFlo microshunt exposure: A case report.
The use of the PreserFlo microshunt is gaining popularity owing to its ease of implantation and reduced need for postoperative intervention compared to conventional trabeculectomy. ⋯ This technique will be beneficial for both preventing exposure and holding down the top, in addition to improving cosmetic appearance.

The JNET classification, combined with magnified narrowband imaging (NBI), is essential for predicting the histology of colorectal polyps and guiding personalized treatment strategies. Despite its recognized utility, the diagnostic efficacy of JNET classification using NBI with dual focus (DF) magnification requires exploration in the Vietnamese context. This study aimed to investigate the diagnostic performance of the JNET classification with the NBI-DF mode in predicting the histology of colorectal polyps in Vietnam. ⋯ Notably, the specificity and positive predictive value for identifying deep submucosal cancer were high at 99.8% and 93.3%. In Vietnam, applying the JNET classification with NBI-DF demonstrates significant value in predicting the histology of colorectal polyps. This classification guides treatment decisions and prevents unnecessary surgeries.

Three-year epidemiological analysis of penetrating ocular traumatic endophthalmitis.
The characteristics of patients with endophthalmitis due to penetrating ocular trauma are still limited. The aim of the study was to fill these gaps among Chinese population. This retrospective study included patients diagnosed as penetrating ocular traumatic endophthalmitis between January 2016 to December 2018. ⋯ Patients with promising outcomes had better initial BCVA at baseline (P < .001). Endophthalmitis is a severe ocular infectious condition that may lead to irreversible vision loss. A greater attention must be paid to penetrating eye injuries within males, who had poor BCVA at baseline, particularly with obvious IOFB.

To investigate the role of TopBP1-interacting checkpoint and replication regulator (TICRR) in the tumorigenesis and prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) patients. Wilcoxon signed-rank test and logistic regression were utilized to analyze the relationship between clinical characteristics and TICRR expression in LUAD from TCGA dataset. Kaplan-Meier plots and Cox regressions were used to assess the impact of TICRR impact on prognosis. ⋯ Interestingly, ssGSEA analysis showed that TICRR expression correlated with multiple immune cell types, such as Th2 cell, TFH cell, mast cell, iDC, eosinophils, and dendritic cell. Lastly, the KM-plotters indicated that LUAD patients with high TICRR expression obtained worse life expectancy (P < .001). TICRR has proven to be a valuable tool in predicting disease progression and prognosis in patients with LUAD, thereby establishing itself as a fitting biomarker for forecasting overall survival (OS) of LUAD patients.
