The effect of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation on individuals with text neck syndrome: A randomized controlled study.
Text neck syndrome is an overuse condition that has become a global problem for all ages who use smartphones. Although therapeutic approaches are used to manage text neck syndrome, relatively little evidence exists on efficacy. This study aimed to investigate the effects of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) techniques on individuals with text neck syndrome. ⋯ PNF could be used effectively to reduce neck pain and disability level and enhance cervical range of motion, cervical muscles' endurance, and posture in individuals with text neck syndrome.

Effects of kinesio taping combined with upper extremity function training home program on upper limb function and self-efficacy in stroke patients: An experimental study.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of kinesio taping and an upper extremity function home program on the upper extremity function and self-efficacy of stroke patients, and to present therapeutic evidence for home program intervention to improve upper extremity function. ⋯ It was confirmed that the upper extremity function training home program performed in parallel with the kinesio taping technique had a positive effect on the recovery of upper extremity function and self-esteem in stroke patients. The kinesio taping technique provides stability to the wrist while performing a home program that patients can perform on their own at home and appears to improve upper extremity function more effectively than when performing the upper extremity function home program alone.

Chiropractic rehabilitation in accelerated rehabilitation after total hip arthroplasty for Crowe type IV hip dysplasia.
To investigate the efficacy of chiropractic rehabilitation therapy in Crowe IV developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) patients after total hip arthroplasty. Seventy-two patients with Crowe IV type DDH hospitalized in the Department of Orthopedics I of Ya'an Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to June 2023 were selected for the study, and they were divided into 36 cases in the chiropractic rehabilitation therapy group (the treatment group) and 36 cases in the traditional rehabilitation therapy group (the control group) according to the method of randomized grouping. All patients were evaluated at preoperative, 1, 3, and 6 months postoperatively for follow-up, and the muscle strength of the affected limb, the patient's walking gait, the shortened length of the affected limb, the visual analog scale score (VAS score), the Oswestry Dysfunction Index Score (ODI score), the Harris Hip Score, and the degree of pelvic tilt were recorded to evaluate the results of the study. ⋯ The muscle strength of the affected limb, walking gait, shortened length of the affected limb, VAS score, ODI score, Harris score, and pelvic tilt in the treatment and control groups improved significantly compared with the preoperative period. Comparisons between the 2 groups revealed that at the final follow-up visit, the limp gait of the patients in the treatment group was significantly reduced, the shortened length of the affected limb was significantly reduced, the VAS score was significantly reduced, and the ODI score was significantly reduced, in the treatment group relative to that of the control group, Harris Hip Score was significantly improved, and the degree of pelvic tilt was significantly reduced, but the improvement in muscle strength of the affected limb was not statistically significant. In future clinical practice, we recommend that chiropractic rehabilitation be used as a routine adjunctive treatment after TKA in patients with Crowe IV DDH to optimize outcomes and improve patients' quality of life.

Risk factors and outcomes associated with systolic dysfunction following traumatic brain injury.
Systolic dysfunction has been observed following isolated moderate-severe traumatic brain injury (Ims-TBI). However, early risk factors for the development of systolic dysfunction after Ims-TBI and their impact on the prognosis of patients with Ims-TBI have not been thoroughly investigated. A prospective observational study among patients aged 16 to 65 years without cardiac comorbidities who sustained Ims-TBI (Glasgow Coma Scale [GCS] score ≤12) was conducted. ⋯ Lower GCS (OR: 0.66, 95% CI: 0.45-0.82; P = .001), lower admission oxygen saturation (OR: 0.82, 95% CI: 0.69-0.98; P = .025), and the development of systolic dysfunction (OR: 4.85, 95% CI: 1.36-17.22; P = .015) were independent risk factors for in-hospital mortality in patients with Ims-TBI. Heart rate, GCS, and serum Hs-cTnT level on admission were independent early risk factors for systolic dysfunction in patients with Ims-TBI. The combination of these 3 parameters can better predict the occurrence of systolic dysfunction.

The impact of human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (low) status on the efficacy of first line cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitors in advanced breast cancer.
The fact that the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-low group, historically classified as HER2 negative in breast cancer histology, benefited from HER2-targeted treatments similarly to the HER2-positive group indicates that this group has a distinct histology from the HER2-0 group. The effectiveness of cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitors, which are the standard first-line treatment for hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer, in this newly defined histological subgroup remains a topic of debate. In our study, we examined the impact of HER2 status on the efficacy of CDK4/6 inhibitors. ⋯ Among the patients, 111 (69.4%) were categorized as HER2-0, and 49 (30.6%) as HER2-low. The 24-month progression-free survival rates were similar between HER2-0 and HER2-low patients (60.6% vs 65.3%, hormone receptor: 1.18, CI: 0.67-2.20, P = .554). We established that the mPFS achieved with cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitors as a first-line therapy for patients with advanced breast cancer is unaffected by HER2 status.
