Case Reports
The "blownknee" patient's stress fracture of distal tibial component after unilateral TKA: A case report.
Periprosthetic fractures (PPF) are rare complications of total knee arthroplasty (TKA). The most common PPF after TKA is supracondylar femoral fracture, which is a relatively rare complication that is usually associated with high-energy trauma, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4 to 1.7% according to the AOANJRR. However, in TKA patients, it is rarer that the stress fracture around the tibial prosthesis occurs due to changes in the lower limb force line, increasing weight-bearing, and changes in walking gait. ⋯ Clinicians should be aware of the possibility of PPF after TKA, especially in such patients, the most preferred surgical treatment method was open reduction and internal fixation of fractures using locking plates, and if the PPF with loosened implants, Revision TKA, or megaprosthesis was the better choice.

In China, herbal traditional Chinese medicine products are readily obtained without any requirement of prescription and widely used in real life, thereby increasing the incidence of their related herb-induced liver injury (HILI). However, the diagnosis of HILI is still challenging because its clinical manifestations are variable due to lack of any specific biomarkers. Misdiagnosis and inappropriate treatment may result in the progression of HILI. ⋯ Corticosteroids should be potentially effective and safe in patients with severe HILI.

Diabetic foot is one of the complications in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Adequate knowledge and practice are an important aspect to control further deteriorating conditions such as ulcers and amputations. Thus, the objective of this cross-sectional study was to investigate the impact of the education levels of diabetic patients on diabetic foot care knowledge and practice. ⋯ Patients with lower education levels exhibited more diabetic complications compared to patients with higher education levels (P < .05). The present study highlights the importance of education and awareness campaigns targeting diabetic patients, especially those with lower education levels, to improve diabetes control and prevent, or manage, comorbidities. Healthcare providers should also prioritize patient education and medication adherence to improve diabetes management and reduce the risk of complications.

A disulfidptosis-associated long noncoding RNA signature to predict low-grade glioma classification, prognosis, tumor microenvironment, and therapy regimens: Observational study.
This study aimed to investigate the function of disulfidptosis-associated long noncoding RNAs (DAlncRNAs) in low-grade gliomas (LGG) through bioinformatics analysis and construct a signature to predict the classification, prognosis, tumor microenvironment, and selection of immunotherapy and chemotherapy in LGG. Genomic, clinical, and mutational information of 526 patients with LGG was retrieved from The Cancer Genome Atlas repository. A nonnegative matrix factorization algorithm was applied to classify patients with LGG. ⋯ The patients were mainly composed of subtype C2, and their prognosis was worse. Immunotherapy and chemotherapy were predicted in the HR and low-risk groups, respectively. Our study, based on DAlncRNAs, highlights 2 disulfidptosis-associated LGG subtypes with different prognostic and immune characteristics and creates a novel disulfidptosis-associated prognostic signature, which may inform the classification, prognosis, molecular pathogenesis, and therapeutic strategies for patients with LGG.

Shenghua decoction for postpartum hemorrhage attributed to uterine atony: An observational study.
This retrospective study aimed to investigate the preventive effects of Shenghua decoction (SHD) for postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) attributed to uterine atony (UA). Records of 84 patients were retrospectively analyzed, with 42 assigned to the treatment group and 42 to the control group. Both groups received carbetocin, and patients in the treatment group additionally underwent SHD. ⋯ There were no significant disparities in treatment-related adverse events between the 2 groups. The findings of this study suggest that the preventive effects of SHD combined with carbetocin were superior to those of carbetocin alone for preventing postpartum hemorrhage. However, high-quality prospective studies are needed to validate and confirm these results.
