Approximately one-fifth ischemic stroke are attributed to cardioembolism. Patients with cardioembolic stroke often develop a more severe disability and a higher risk of stroke recurrence. Cardiac myxoma, although uncommon, can serve as a potentially curable cause of acute embolic strokes. ⋯ Clinicians should be vigilant for skin manifestations of cardiac embolism. In patients with acute ischemic strokes, the presence of cutaneous embolic phenomena could serve as a warning sign of cardioembolism.

The purpose was to evaluate the pathological nature of focal thyroid uptake seen in 11C-Choline PET/CT performed for prostate cancer. ⋯ In this retrospective study of patients with prostate cancer who underwent 11C-Choline PET/CT, we identified a group of patients who underwent thyroid ultrasound for incidental finding of focal 11C-Choline thyroid uptake. Incidence of malignancy in this group was 12%. Therefore, further investigation with ultrasound and possibly ultrasound-guided biopsy may be warranted when a choline avid thyroid nodule is found incidentally on choline PET.

Considering the invasiveness of the biopsy method, we attempted to evaluate the ability of the gamma distribution model using magnetic resonance imaging images to stage and grade benign and malignant brain tumors. ⋯ The findings of our study highlight the potential of using a gamma distribution model with diffusion-weighted imaging based on multiple b-values for grading and staging brain tumors. Its potential integration into routine clinical practice could advance neurooncology and improve patient outcomes through more accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

A large forearm subcutaneous hematoma after contrast extravasation requires surgical managements: A case report.
Large extremity hematoma can rarely happen after contrast extravasation during a contrast-enhanced computed tomography scan. Some hematomas need prompt surgical managements. ⋯ Large extremity hematoma can happen after contrast extravasation during computed tomography scan, which may require surgical treatments. Careful preparation, close monitor, and prompt managements should be applied in high-risk patients.

To investigate the effects of pretreatment with long-acting gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a) before frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) on pregnancy outcomes in patients after minimal-mild (stages I-II) peritoneal endometriosis surgery. A retrospective cohort study was performed from March 2018 to May 2019. Overall, 274 patients met inclusion criteria of undergoing FET after minimal/mild peritoneal endometriosis surgery. ⋯ However, group A2's CPR and LBR were significantly higher than group B's (64.9% and 55.4% vs 49.2% and 40.0%, respectively; χ2 = 4.560, P = .023 and χ2 = 4.375, P = .026, respectively). Logistic regression analysis showed that GnRH-a pretreatment (1 or 2 doses) had no significant effect on CPR and LBR compared with the HRT-only group. Patients with minimal-mild (stages I-II) peritoneal endometriosis surgery may not require GnRH-a pretreatment before FET.
