ReviewEfficacy and safety of anti-calcitonin gene-related peptide monoclonal antibodies for treatment of chronic migraine: A systematic review and network meta-analysis.
To conduct a systematic review and network meta-analysis of all randomized trials investigating effects of anti-calcitonin gene related peptide monoclonal antibodies (anti-CGRP mAbs) on adult patients with chronic migraine. ⋯ Although all doses of anti-CGRP mAbs have comparable efficacy, safety and tolerability based on uncertainties in indirect comparisons for all outcomes, the calculated effect estimates numerically favored high doses of subcutaneous fremanezumab and intravenous eptinezumab as the effective therapy with acceptable safety and tolerability for short term prevention of chronic migraine.

Association of anemia and transfusions with outcome after subarachnoid hemorrhage.
The benefits of correcting anemia using red blood cell transfusion (RBCT) after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) are controversial. We aimed to evaluate the role of anemia and RBCT on neurological outcome after SAH using a restrictive transfusion policy. ⋯ In this retrospective single center study using a restrictive strategy of RBCT in SAH patients was not associated with worse outcome in 3 months.

Comparison of ultrasonography and computed tomography for measuring optic nerve sheath diameter for the detection of elevated intracranial pressure.
The main aim of this study was to compare optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) measured using ultrasonography (USG) and computed tomography (CT) almost simultaneously in the same patients with suspected elevated intracranial pressure. The other aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic ability for detecting elevated intracranial pressure using ONSD measured by USG (USG-ONSD) and by CT (CT-ONSD). ⋯ The ONSD measured using USG and CT were increased in patients with elevated intracranial pressure. Measurement of ONSD by USG and CT showed very high agreement.

Complications of intrathecal drug delivery therapy (ITDD): A retrospective study of 231 implantations between 1999 and 2014.
Determination of types and frequencies of complications related to ITDD therapy, and assessment of possible risk factors for such complications. ⋯ Complications in ITDD therapy were common, comprising catheter-, infection-, and pump-associated mishaps. A comprehensive system of care needs to be present for managing complications. Future studies may show less complications due to improved protocols and equipment.

Observational StudyThe effect of quarantine due to Covid-19 pandemic on seizure frequency in 102 adult people with epilepsy from Apulia and Basilicata regions, Southern Italy.
following the COVID-19 pandemic, a quarantine was imposed to all of regions Italy by 9th March until 3rd May 2020. We investigated the effect of COVID-19 infection and quarantine on seizure frequency in adult people with epilepsy (PwE) of Apulia and Basilicata regions, Southern Italy. ⋯ Our study adds to the growing concern that the indirect effects of COVID-19 pandemic will far outstrip the direct consequences of the infection.
