[Shortening of the measurement time by 1H-MR turbo spectroscopic imaging of the brain].
Development of a new technique for reduction of measurement time in 1H-MR spectroscopic imaging of the brain. Optimisation of the sequence parameters in volunteer and in patient examinations and comparison to the results obtained with conventional 2 D-SI. ⋯ With measurement durations < 10 min the TSI technique allows in clinical studies a combination with single-voxel MRS for accurate quantification and with a diagnostic MRI within a total examination time of less than one hour.

of the study is the visualisation of normal pulmonary ventilation in healthy volunteers and the evaluation of abnormalities in patients with different lung diseases using 3He magnetic resonance imaging (3He-MRI). ⋯ 3He MRI is a promising new modality for the assessment of pulmonary ventilation and its anomalies.

Right heart failure: diagnosis via ultrasonography of the inferior vena cava and hepatic veins.
To determine the efficiency of ultrasonographic measurements of the inferior vena cava (IVC) and hepatic vein (HV) in the detection of elevated systemic venous pressure due to right heart failure. ⋯ Ultrasonographic measurement of the CI of the inferior vena cava is particularly useful to exclude systemic venous congestion in right heart failure and to monitor the effect of therapy.
